Hiking up King's Throne in Kluane National Park with Leif and Pia. I did the first part of this hike back in 2010 (when I was 11!) and got up to just past the seat of the throne, but didn't get very far up the ridge. Got all the way up to summit this time around, despite the rain, snow, and strong winds.

Pouring rain this morning, so watched the live GPS tracking, did some course setting for an event in Salmon Arm next Monday, and a few other useful things too.

Got access to an automatic car, so drove (was kinda weird driving for the first time in a month in a car with a really touchy brake and poor sight lines) up to the map today. Started dumping buckets after three hours of mostly just cloud and only the odd sprinkle, so called it a day and drove back to Afan's.

Last week of Junior Program - Session 1. Group did better than usual, and was able to tell that some people had learned something, others only really learned who to follow...

Session 2 - Much better group as per usual - who you could tell had all learned a lot by the end of the year.

So it is supposed to pour rain tomorrow morning, and the Orienteering World Cup is on, which makes it awfully tempting to skip mapping for the day and just watch that...

Probably will just go get soaked and miserable instead though.

Very green, flat, swampy, boring and miserable. Rainy at times, otherwise very buggy. It has been really wet up here for the last week, and so there are a ton of mosquitoes now. Lots of bites on my hands, face, and neck. It's been fairly bug free up here until now (always less than 5 or so bugs around me), but today was just a cloud of bugs every time I stopped moving or held a limb in place for too long.
