Hiking (Snowshoeing) 5:31:48 intensity: (2:00:00 @0) + (3:31:48 @1) 12.01 km (27:38 / km) +902m 20:05 / km

Epic snowshoe up to the summit of Mount Ida with a good group of 12 people (Woods Family minus Adam but plus Emil (Swedish exchange student), a couple of cousins, some young family friends, some old family friends, and a bunch of us Bakkers) and then we caught up to Connors and some other guy on the way up. We broke trail for part of the way up (Connors had taken a different route), but ended up being the first group up after about 2/3 of the way up. Super busy day for the trail - I bet nobody else will do it all year.

Not much snow at the bottom (6 to 8 inches), and then up to around a meter on top, so pretty tough work breaking trail at the top, so really nice to cycle through the group.

Group shot using a timer on a backpack up at the top. Got the shot first try!

View to the northeast with Fly Hills on the left, Bastion Mountain on the Right, Shuswap Lake (Salmon Arm Bay) centre right, and just the edge of Salmon Arm poking through the trees.

Westward view showing Deep Creek (bottom right) Gardom Lake (just above it), Enderby Cliffs (centre).

Super cool hoar frost only on one side of the summit mountain ridge.

GPS data available to everyone by clicking that little globe up there.

Feet hurting a bit on the way up, but hurting a fair bit on the second half of the way down.

Counted at something around 3/5 time.
