Easy evening run to break up the studying. Nice to get out for a short run - it's all a balancing act between sleep, food, studying, and getting exercise (so I don't go completely crazy) at the moment.
I have read an entire 330 page book in the last 48 hours for Latin American History called "A Lexicon of Terror - Argentina and the Legacies of Torture" about Arentina's publicly supported Military Coup in 1976 and the disappearances that occured during military rule and the aftermath returning to democracy. Now I have an essay to plan using the book as the main source on "the long term socio-cultural, political, and economic consequences of the dictatorship on civil society". Gonna be a great rest of the evening.

Running a quick course of ~8 controls on a very barebones map that I threw together of pre-generated 5m contours with roads traced onto it. Decent terrain - if I have extra time/budget this spring I'll see if I can convince Sage to let me come and map it properly.
The orienteering started out really poorly - I was in some thicker vegetation that pushed me around a lot - and really missed having proper contours as well. Mis-interpreted some of the generated contours, and cut into what I thought was the control site early. Corrected after that and the next couple of controls were smooth until I hit a fence that I had neglected to trace marking the edge of the park and the start of private property - so had to lop a few controls off the course. Got better throughout the rest of the run - last few controls I felt a lot more confident and smooth. Really nice to get out on a map with almost no snow on the ground (only a few small sections of the white stuff in some of the depressions).
