Strength (Ski Team) 1:30:00 [1]
shoes: Salomon X-Ultra

Strength at Nashes. Pretty good workout, was raining. For some reason (probably my tumour...) my left leg is way weaker when going up and down than my right.

Saturday Aug 29, 2015 #

Roller Skiing - Skate 1:00:00 [2] 14.5 km (4:08 / km)
ahr:151 max:176

Ski from the bottom of the driveway around the usual loop, but with parts of it done twice and a few added cul-de-sacs.

Biking 30:00 [1]
shoes: Norco Charger

Biking Galena Trail with Mom, Lil, and Simon from three forks to New Denver. Super easy, counted at approximately 1/2 time.

Thursday Aug 27, 2015 #

Biking 1:15:00 [1] 8.95 km (8:23 / km)
shoes: Norco Charger

Mom shuttled my dad, Mr. Holmes, and myself up to the top of Wilson Creek Trail, and we biked down it. Awesome trail, hidden gem, and not a single tree down on it. Well ridden, great mix of technical, steep, and easy stuff (not much). One of the best bike trails I have been on of all time.

Biking 2:00:00 [1] 23.3 km (5:09 / km)
shoes: Norco Charger

Biking from Summit lake to Rosebery campground along the old railway grade with the whole family as well as Mr. Holmes and Jake who only went about halfway to Hills. Easy riding, counted at around 3/4 time, due to lowish heartrate.

Wednesday Aug 26, 2015 #

Biking 4:00:00 [1] 30.2 km (7:57 / km)
shoes: Norco Charger

Biking from Three Forks up H-Road to Queen Bess road, up Idaho Peak to the top of Alamo Wagon Road. Down Alamo to Choices, down choices, then over to the Galena Trail, Cable Car, and Lower Loop into New Denver for Gelato. Then back on the bike and home to Rosebery. Fun ride, not super confident on my bike, but kept my heartrate within zone 1 pretty much the entire time which was good.

Running 35:00 [2] 4.0 km (8:45 / km)
shoes: Salomon X-Ultra

Running out to Little Mountain and setting up orienteering course with flagging tape for the family reunion. I have had very little physical activity this week(end) but should be better next week going camping in New Denver.

Games (capture the flag) 40:00 [2]
shoes: Salomon X-Ultra

At south Broadview with the ski team. Lots of fun felt good, but a little tired sleep wise.

Running (ski practice) 30:00 [1] 3.5 km (8:34 / km)

Strength 1:30:00 [1]
shoes: Salomon XR-Mission

Strength at Nash house. Good workout, mostly upper body, with core at the end. A little bit of legs mixed in here and there to give the arms a rest. Feeling pretty good, but need to get out more after work, which will be difficult this week with family visiting the entire time.

Roller Skiing - Skate 1:00:00 [2] 14.4 km (4:10 / km)
ahr:153 max:174

Started from the bottom of the driveway, a first for roller skiing! Found a somewhat half decent route with lowish traffic. A few blind scary downhills mostly right near home while trying to get back without getting hit by a car. Feeling good, feet were good, head was almost perfect, and leg was good with constant Vitamin I. Just need to get my head back into training, and hopefully my body will start to co-operate.

Running 36:00 [1] 4.6 km (7:50 / km)
shoes: Salomon XR-Mission

Today was just not my day for running...

Started to go out of for an epic ~2 hour run on trails out to South Canoe and up the system and back home again. Unfortunately, I got about 5 minutes in and felt my feet getting more and more sore. Having had plantar faciitis problems in the past, and sore feet after/during work the past few days, I decided to call it quits and walked home.

Did a bunch of stretches, and all the right things, got off my feet and did some Sage Website updating, a bunch of mapping and reading news.

Four hours and a large supper later I went out for another run with a different pair of shoes. Got 20 minutes in without any sore feet problems, and then got to Timmies and looked up. Massive Thunder Cells moving towards me, the wind picked up, and the sky turned black. I got the hint. Turned around, ran back home much sooner than I planned to.

Hopefully tomorrow goes a little better.

Strength (home) 1:00:00 [1]

Dynamic warm up, then modified kezoras, then 2 cycles through random strength activities that i thought of at the time. Felt pretty good, but having to take 4 vitamin I everyday though.

Running 56:00 [2] 9.0 km (6:13 / km)
shoes: Salomon X-Ultra

Run out to Badger park, airport, through little mountain, top of rotary trail, and back on road.

Good run, hot, felt good, ran hard (probably should not have gone that hard, but was feeling so good), no injury trouble (thank you vitamin I)!

Monday Aug 10, 2015 #

Paddling 1:00:00 [1] 6.0 km (10:00 / km)

Paddling across the lake from eagle bay. Calm ish water, no water in creek on the far side. Body was good, except my right ankle which is still quite sure with some positions.

Sunday Aug 9, 2015 #

Hiking (Joss Mountain Traverse) 2:20:00 [1] 16.0 km (8:45 / km)
shoes: Salomon X-Ultra

Had two groups starting on opposite ends of Joss Mountain, switched keys halfway, and took the other vehicle back. Lots of fun, great views, felt good. Only problem was I strained (I think) my outer right ankle the other day and it hurt with every step coming down. Hopefully that gets better shortly.

Biking 1:00:00 [1] 9.0 km (6:40 / km)
shoes: Salomon XR-Mission

Easy ride with Dad in South Canoe for the first time in a couple of months. Heart rate was really low. Good ride, but hot and my downhill riding sucked. Probably related to not really riding my bike for the past 2 months, but I am not sure...

Thursday Aug 6, 2015 #

Hiking 2:00:00 [1] 19.0 km (6:19 / km)
shoes: Salomon X-Ultra

More Pine Moth cutting at work. Counted at 1/3 time (was actually 7.5 hours) due to low heart rate, but long endurance. Distance is a inaccurate conservative Google earth calculated estimate.

Running 35:00 [1]
shoes: Salomon X-Ultra

Running warm up at ski practice plus run home afterwards. feeLing tired now but happy that I can do this much activity in one day.

Games (European handball) 50:00 [2]
shoes: Salomon X-Ultra

Two unusable games of handball at ski practice. feet starting get sore by the end

Wednesday Aug 5, 2015 #

Hiking 1:15:00 [1]
shoes: Salomon X-Ultra

Picked pine cones at work for first 3 hours and then walked in the park! Just kidding, walked through a lodge-pole pine plantation cutting out Pine Moths. Activity time counted at 1/3 actual time (really it was around 4 hours).

Monday Aug 3, 2015 #

Biking 25:00 [1] 5.0 km (5:00 / km)
shoes: Norco Charger

Biking down to Jackson and back for mapping. Was feeling tired today for some reason and because I am starting my job tomorrow did not want to do anything difficult.

Mapping 40:00 [1] 4.0 km (10:00 / km)
shoes: Salomon X-Ultra

Mapping Jackson, McGuire Lake, and a bunch of downtown. For low traffic times of the year, it should be an excellent sprint map. Lots of trees, walls, small cut-throughs (probably can unlock a few gated ones if we talked to the city too). Was actually around 80 minutes, but recorded at half time as my heart rate was hovering just above 100-110 range.

Sunday Aug 2, 2015 #

Running 30:00 [2] 4.4 km (6:49 / km)
shoes: Salomon X-Ultra

Short Up and Down run out in Eagle Bay with Dad. Very hot out, enjoyed the lake afterwards.

Orienteering 30:00 [2] 3.0 km (10:00 / km)
shoes: Salomon X-Ultra

Quickly set up a course in SMS for visiting cousins and family. Nobody wanted to start, but afterwards everybody said they had fun.
