Cockies long run at Hackett with RobW, GrantM, SwissMiss, JoshyB, Graham and Rob's mate John. Rob was picking myself and then John up and it seems the fear of being late for the new boy John caused him to overcompensate - Rob had the skoda parked in my driveway at 730 and we were at Hackett at 750, even after picking John up in O'Connor.

We took majura first to refresh the triple tri course fro SwissMiss and I accompanied the neutral-one up the hill. Down to the wet and decimated pines - the road clearing well and truly commenced adn we wont be orienteering there for a long while. Might even impinge on our long run course. Felt better running wise up Hackett and took AInslie pretty solidly withough Jens Voigting.

Coffee at Sfoglia where the grub was good but the service a bit average. My incredibly complex foccacia with butter took an age to come out and GrantM had to go inside to get some milk for his muesli. Still hadnt done coffee for a while and it was great.

AN old sessions havent done for ages - a Crackenback effort followed by Little Black Mtn, with RobW. Was steady, starting out each effort feeling a bit poorly but holding reasonable pace to the end. Rob our of sight on both. Think my times were respectable without troubling any PBs.

Was thinking about intervals or hills but had hardly anytime and decided to make this week an easy week post the big run on Monday. So just trotted round before finishing at cafe and buying a lot of coffees for staff who werent willing to go outside!

Ride in was looking a bit cold but i figured day would warm up so just wore spring cycling gear. By the time of ride home at 8.30pm it was dark, freezing cold and pelting with rain not too mention huge puddles formed on bike paths. I had no choice but to ride home and havent been that cold for some time with aching wet limbs and extremities. Not surprised the next morning to see pictures of snow round canberra.

Commuting. Pretty weary but overall no particular spots indicating injury. Pretty weary riding uphill in the quads though. First part of ride towing two almost 20kg girls was not good.

Epic tough run from Corin Dam up Stockyard Spur, out to Mt Gingera, then out the other way to Mt Ginini before back down Stockyard Spur. Good group of Devil, RObW, Hoggster and Lizzie and we met the couple Crane in the carpark who had just done the Mt Gingera section of the run.

Up Stockyard spur was very tough - 5-6k/60mins with first 2k (30mins) pretty much straight up. Achilles were in world of hurt. After that Gingera felt cruisy. Beautiful high country grass and snow gums and a nice view from the top. Quads struggling for strength up the hill. Then back past the Spur turn off where decided to go the whole hog and do Ginini as well. This was a less enjoyable part of the run as the focus turned to keeping going and the run was all fire trail. Back along our tracks from Ginini so at least knew spots to aim for. Highlight was Andy swearing at Rob for looking like he was doing it too easy. Made the turn off to Stockyard spur where Andy and I let the greyhounds (Devil & Rob) run free while we went in to survival mode. Got a much better look at how horrendously steep Stockyard spur is as we crawled our way down. Glad to get to the end where rice wheels (kids snack pack) where the best I've ever tasted - and I've pinched a few along the way.

Enjoyable and tough run and havent really done something like that since June. Pretty much 5pm by then (we started in the arvo after ALJ and BA had run in the morn) so Maccas drive thru was the option. 12yo Maccas employee who tried to tell Andy the flat white he had bought out to the car was a short black got short shrift from me while I munched chips in the back seat.
