Long run. organised for rob and I to run from home over to Cockies long run. On time for once so we didnt have to pelt the last 5k in 20mins. Reasonable crowd and headed for ainslie first. unfortunatelty heading up ainslie left calf/achilles got sore/tight/painful. stopped for a few stretches and got a little better maybe but still there coming off ainslie and worse again up HH. After some wise words from Hoggster I headed back to cars. Bit dissapointed not to do scheduled 2hrs40 and also concerned about potential injury. On way down from HH I did remember something similar and that it could be nerve pain related to my back, as well as calf. Looked up AP injury file and sure enough there it was same symptoms with better in 2 days after stretching etc. Have dug out prescribed stretches and feel confident it will settle down. Not happy today though.
Coffee was at Praga (?) in Dickson with regulars closed. Generous portions impressed the punters.

Stretching & Exercises 30:00 [1]

My lovely wife had filed away my list of exercises from when I last did this injury so I was able to get the list out and crank through them. Calf feeling better already.

easy run with hoggster although pretty warm. coulda shoulda done intervals or something harder but didnt put up a fight when hoggster said his mancold meant just a run would be good for him. got into some good ol days talk at the end - if only we had the wisdom we have now back then? (when we were young, nubile and enthusiastic).

Garmin HR spikes starting to give me the $hits - particularly bad on this run. Just shows that cleaning it, which i did on thursday night, is not the answer.

run home from work. Beautiful evening for running. did 6,5,4,3,2,1 efforts with 1min recovery between each. Felt bit sluggish. Remembered why the kangaroo paddock is called the kangaroo paddock when running through approaching dusk.

Cycling hills 33:43 intensity: (43 @0) + (15:16 @1) + (5:19 @2) + (5:32 @3) + (6:51 @4) + (2 @5) 10.48 km (3:13 / km) +268m 2:51 / km

Pretty hot day. was thinking about the Ainslie run up but the ride over there and back plus the run itself seemed a bit excessive so instead did 2 Red Hill reps at lunch on pushie. Really need to do 4 or 5 to be a proper session but its a start.

Didnt get out to the middle of the hot day with a high level of CBF. Quads felt tired, started an interval but then ran home and stretched.
