Tour de Ridge, formerly Tour de Mountain as now without Mt Taylor section. Feeling good earlu and loving the blue lunar flys although carefully applied blister protection on ankle exited the top of my sock at about 5k mark. Ran at relaxed but slightly quicker than normal (whatever that is) early. Teamed up with red innov8s (James) fairly early who was snappy on the downhills but i had his measure on the ups. Used a few pennys up Farrer Ridge so tried to use a few less up the steeper Mt Wanniassa. Went along well through back of Wanniassa and up Isaacs Ridge losing red Innov8s and running with christmas party dude (he was complaining about food eaten at yesterdays christmas party). Was conserving hills but striding well everywhere else. Lost christmas party dude coming off Isaacs for the last time and really got a good rhythm for last flatish 5k home with ks at 4min10s except for uphill one.Really good run from me showing better strength and speed - bike, hills and gels perhaps helping. Only finished 90s behind Devil although hadnt seen him since the start and he had had a big week of training. Back to Spottage's house for bacon and eggs and general cheeriness after he and BA also had good runs. Stuffed now!

For the record and so i get this right at 6FT:
Breakfast - weet bix and a half with honey
water at approx 30mins, 50mins, 70mins and maybe 85.
full gel with 2 cups of water at 52mins.

some minor prancing with devil pre race and then slug like lap of oval post race.

Turned the legs over before race tomorrow with half lap of aranda. did a few v short hill surges. HRM on the blink.

O at Weston Pk. Fun course with 33 controls so certainly Lawfords made the most of it! Legs fairly weary but got round with minimal errors and some good exit directions and planning.

Run home with new spi belt which works well, ie no back pack. did efforts of 6,5,4,3,2,1 min with 1min recovery between each. Feeling fast in LunarFLys although pace of each int dictated by number of fences or roads crossed.

Commuting. Pretty sluggish on way in but felt like I'd recovered on way home. Further mulching on my cut through which, combined with the rain, meant v sticky wheels.
