Orienteering race 1:00:26 [4] 10.93 km (5:32 / km) +169m 5:08 / km
shoes: Brooks Cascadia Yellow ones

Jim Sawkins Handicap at Timbertops. Absolutely freezing with a gale straight from the antarctic. Ran red 2 as started late, it was freezing and I was collectiong controls at the end. Pumped round keeping an eye on my watch trying to beat the hour - missed by 20s. Lost maybe a minute on 1st control - I was in the right spot but the wind had blown it down onto the ground so must've stepped over it practically. Another few hesitations, wobbles which cost the hour mark. But keeping an eye on the watch was good for pushing me. Terrific area. Pity about the weather and the random high number of bulldozed tracks the landowner (presumably) has chosen to put in. Cracker course from RObW.

Orienteering warm up/down 39:26 [2] 5.08 km (7:46 / km) +108m 7:01 / km
shoes: Brooks Cascadia Yellow ones

Slow blob round picking up flags. Guts got a bit crook probably from 2 freddo frogs I bolted down post race. Absoloutly freezing last section through paddock into wind to finish. Lift home from Mike Burt. Nice to get a lift with someone I often say hello to but never have a long conversation with. Imagine migrating across the world in your early 20s for a job as an actuary. I guess some people reading would have done this (the migration part) but not sure I wouldve been up for it then (in my early 20s). An enjoyable drive home.

Went to Community O at lunch time at Red Hill. A bizarre world the lunch time Community O with a collection of die hards, retirees and lunch time runners. Tried to avoid the tracks even when they were the best choice and run in bush using contours.

Pilates 1:00:00 [3]

I am so unco its ridiculous. The ridiculousness is only matched by the ridiculousness of how tight my hamstrings are. Despite my ridiculousness the class continues to help my core - how can such small, simple looking movements cause so much pain?

Mt AInslie Run up. Had decided to do training instead however BA forgot her work shoes this morning so went to hand them over so at least only the morning was in bike cleats. Could feel weekends training in legs from the get-go and staying with Adrian SHepherd for the first 500m didn't help either. Felt like I'd run the stair section (which is always the killer) when I was still 200m short of them. Pleased to be only 10-15s behind best efforts of this year.

Running warm up/down 14:29 [1] 2.06 km (7:01 / km)
ahr:118 max:123 shoes: Brooks Racer ST4

Jog back down hill with BA.

Cycling 1:20:00 [3]

Super commuting in the rain. Committed. Way home was not too bad except for putting wet gear on from morning. Ugh.
