Orienteering race 1:37:58 [3] 13.0 km (7:32 / km)
ahr:152 max:169 shoes: Brooks Cascadia 4 (Tractors)

Jim Sawkins Memorial Handicap. An enjoyable long race through Ainslie and Majura (point to point). I thought of Jim many times on the run - reckon he would have enjoyed it. I didnt make any mistakes and ran at smooth long run pace the whole way. Didnt see anyone till second last when Lac6hy roared past. There were 3 long legs, 1 over Ainslie, 2nd over Hackett Hill and the last over Majura. Felt during the race I got the right choices - went left on Ainslie, left on Hackett and right on Majura up the fence line we often long run down. After race I wasnt so sure as almost 20mins down on RobW - I expected him to beat me but not that much. Looking at splits looks like I got the Majura wrong - Rob took 6mins off me there which seems more than just run speed (although could be!). Other differences seem ok. Beat Dev by less than a minute and looking at splits not sure what he did in the final majura west section but I came from 8mins down in that section to victory (over Devil that is!).

Running 35:09 [3] 7.0 km (5:01 / km)
ahr:134 max:148 shoes: Nike Air Pegasus26

Concrete path loop solo. Over dressed again as cloud had kept things warm. Still got to show off my new 'Canberra Running Festival' tee which the XC club is selling on special ($25, free postage) and was quite good. Saw the old running couple with the mixed gear (trendy nike tights + windcheaters) however this time they were going uphill and I down and they were walking. Sledged them heavily for slackness and luckily the guy couldnt quite reach me with his stick.
