Orienteering race 1:19:31 [5] 10.0 km (7:57 / km)
ahr:157 max:175 weight:83.3kg shoes: Brooks Cascadia 4 (Tractors)

Kowen Forest OY thingy. Had got enough enthusiasm back to do Course 1 and felt fairly sprightly running. Mistake on 4 lost me a minute or 2 - hadnt looked close enough on the map and was running on wrong side of gully looking for the feature/control. Lost another minute (? didnt time it) to a pitstop and looked back to see Graham 100m or so behinf. Dough - better focus. Got through the next few with a bit more speed and no errors and never saw Graham again. he said later he wasnt sure it was me but promptly lost 10mins on next control. Pretty smooth but without any hint of pushing it for next little while till caught Patrick at 13. We ran together till 16 but 16-17 I got onto a row of pines that was like a freeway so upped the enthusiasm and the pace. Hammered home then over final 3 controls trying to break 80mins and dropped Patrick to the tune of 3mins. That was good but probably also reflected that wasnt really going for it earlier on. Nice run. Nice little area (its the other end of the forest that was Day 2 of Easter 2010). Miss Jones flogged me to the tune of 6 mins and I doubt she was too enthusiastic the week after the trials. On the other hand got Devil by 10mins but he did do Mtn Running Champs yesterday.

Running 53:12 [3] 11.0 km (4:50 / km)
ahr:138 max:171 shoes: Nike Air Zoom Elite 4

Late arvo run with Hoggster & RobW. From mine through Black Mtn reserve for a while, back through Aranda Kanga paddocks and home. Bit snappier than a blob run but not fast enough to be called a tempo run. Plenty of chat abotu woc selection, socceroos, champions league and,a s per usual, the UN.

Running 36:06 [3] 7.0 km (5:09 / km)
ahr:131 max:153 shoes: Nike Air Pegasus26

Regular friday run with the boys and a very fast and fresh Pippa. Hoggster wanted to do a small extension of the tear drop but concerns that Searlo, running his 3rd day in a row, might crack meant we didnt. Didnt feel too cold while running but took me a long shower and about 3 hours to warm back up.

Running 1:22:11 [3] 16.0 km (5:08 / km)
ahr:141 max:157 shoes: Nike Air Pegasus26

Run home from work. Still enjoying it. Tonnes of roos in Aranda paddocks including 1 who couldn't jump over the fence to get away from me but managed to throw itself through the fence. The fence wasnt quite chicken wire but it was "squares" rather than just strands so I'm not sure how it did it.

Running hills 22:09 [4] 5.0 km (4:26 / km)
ahr:126 max:165 weight:82.9kg shoes: Nike Air Pegasus26

3*DS Hills in the morning. First one pathetically slow as warmed/woke up but tried to push other two knowing I didnt have time slot for any more.

Cycling 1:20:00 [3]
weight:83.2kg

Ride to and from work. No doubt about the darkness this week and no leggy accompaniment. Did think for a while that the entire band of Queen, including departed Eddie Mercury, was trailing behind me up Aranda Hill but when they went past realised it was a bloke with a transistor radio strapped to his handle bars. Obviously ipods and mp3s not come to his world just yet.
