Running 40:08 [3] 7.3 km (5:30 / km)
weight:85.7kg shoes: Nike Air Pegasus26

Run with Searlo, up DS Hill then down onto usual concrete path loop. Wore Polar foot pod for first time in a long while to remind me what its like as contemplating shelling out cash for a garmin. Searlo going well after yesterday - he was contemplating half maras and maras! Got me inspired and keen which is a good thing.

Running 1:39:22 [3] 20.0 km (4:58 / km)
ahr:136 shoes: Nike Air Pegasus26

Cant do tomorrows sunday run so did a longer one this morning with Searlo and Hoggster. Bit slower than usual to help Searlo who was 'stepping up' from previous runs but he handled it well and I was pretty tired afterwwards so cant have been too bad! Basically the crackenback loop with Little Black Mtn added on and running to Searlos and back. Plenty of banter about the collapse of the Canberra Marathon.

Note

Scales were doing crazy stuff this morning so no weight but more importantly I accidentally cracked on the butter challenge!!!! Was at Luca Hogg's (Cathy Hoggs daughter) 2nd birthday party when on my 3rd bit of fairy bread it dawned on me the stuff had butter/marg on it (as you'd expect!). Goddamit. Well aim now is to get through Feb with only 3 fairy breads worth of marg/butter.

Running 35:27 [3] 7.0 km (5:04 / km)
ahr:129 max:171 weight:85.1kg shoes: Nike Air Pegasus26

Morning lap of the concrete path with Hoggster & Pippa. A fair bit in the rain which produced good form from Pippa. Got home and family still asleep! Bastards!

Note

FebFast Update. No real signs of cracking yet on butter or beer. Felt like a beer last night but it was only fleeting. Lack of marg gets thought about more often and toast consumption has gone down without it but so far so good.

Terrain Running warm up/down 20:00 [3] 4.0 km (5:00 / km)
ahr:130 shoes: Brooks Cascadia 4 (Tractors)

Prancing round forest pre session and crawling home to car which was parked at Rani Rd.
8 AM

Terrain Running intervals 20:00 [5] 4.0 km (5:00 / km)
ahr:145 max:163 weight:85.1kg shoes: Brooks Cascadia 4 (Tractors)

Snaffled some time so did some terrain intervals. Cranked out an old school session of 5*3mins with 1min recovery. Was running across slopes above Rani Rd as figured going in and out of those erosion gullys was good training. Definitely not as quick as if I'd had company but still got em done. Session was also run a fair percentage in the rain and with numeri spiders and their webs in the area. Good work by me even if I do say so myself.

Cycling 1:20:00 [3]

Commutering. Took the time to lube the chain this morn and it made a world of difference.

Terrain Running 17:37 [3] 4.0 km (4:24 / km)
ahr:123 max:168 weight:85.4kg shoes: Brooks Cascadia 4 (Tractors)

Couldnt do SS tonight so snuck out for some very short terrain running on Gossan Hill. Staight off bike basically then finished and straight down to childcare. Maybe a new form of triathlon - bike, run then toddler-wrangling. I'd actually probably do better at that than a swim leg.

Running 25:13 [3] 5.0 km (5:03 / km)
ahr:118 max:133 weight:85.4kg shoes: Nike Air Pegasus26

Morning run although this time along aranda ovals, past Jammo, up the bike path and back along bandjalong. Started that way as thought I could do some hills in the time available but I just felt too sluggish in both the body and mind.

Note
weight:85.2kg

Weight loss program is stepping up a level. I will attempt to go through February with no alcohol and no margarine/butter. First one is obvious. Second one is because I tend to have a fair bit of marg throughout the day. As belinda puts it "would you like some toast with your butter?" Consequently I have a personal theory that no marg will help with weight loss. If Liggo is reading this and can think of some charity challenge people can sign up for then I'll give it a go but I'm mostly doing it to drop some kgs pre NOL in March.

Cycling 1:20:00 [3]

Commute. Chain still needs oil.
