Running 1:28:16 [3] 18.0 km (4:54 / km)
ahr:140 max:173 weight:86.8kg shoes: Nike Air Pegasus26

Its good every now and then to run against the big boys, the older guys/gals and, as a junior, test yourself. I was able to do that today when I turned up to Cockies long run to run with Grant & Mary McDonald and Liz & Bruce Bowen. I passed with flying colours. Ran mostly with GrantM although he was cutting a few corners on the hills. We went along back of Ainslie-the-suburb with Grant setting a cracking pace then up Ainslie, HH and a loop in the cool shade of Majura Pines. Had to skip cafe due to twin-chaos at home but made self nice cap when I got home.

Orienteering 1:00:00 [3] 6.0 km (10:00 / km)
ahr:123 max:164 shoes: Nike Air Pegasus26

Final check of ANU in stinking hot. All looking good. Watched a bit of cricket at south oval at the end. Weston Creek v ANU with ANU batting and about 7/123 when I was watching. The Creekers had a young wrist spinner bowling who was taking himself very seriously. He seemed to either have the batsman guessing or bowl a wide (or a full toss).

New year, new scales, new diet, new 'high' in weight. Time to arrest this 'development'.
Too stuffed from heat and yesterdays ints to run.

Running 32:00 [3] 6.0 km (5:20 / km)
ahr:123 max:167 shoes: Nike Air Zoom Elite 4

Ints organised by Mace with Hoggster, Jose, Fatrat and Fel & Pheobes went riding. Also Jules turned up for coffee. Warm up was from sth oval down to Museum then warm down to ANI which is now called 'Urban Food', apparantley so they can sell coke, and then back to cars at south oval. Really enjoyed toast and coffee.

Running intervals 24:00 [5] 5.0 km (4:48 / km)

Ints were I'd guess about 1100m round Musuem. Did 4 all with Mace who is running really well. Felt pretty ordinary on 1st one and then pretty good on next 3 and was even able to employ my old coaches voice to encourage macey along.

Running 27:36 [3] 5.0 km (5:31 / km)
ahr:114 max:134 shoes: Nike Air Pegasus26

Back to reality with half lap of aranda pre-daddy day care. Was intending to do some hills but didnt get up quick enough and only had time for the warm up. Saw the daggy older couple I often see running that loop only this time they were all decked out in coolmax nike and addidas gear! Think I know what they gave each other for chrissy.

Running 1:00:00 [3] 10.0 km (6:00 / km)
shoes: Nike Air Pegasus26

At ANU for about 4 hours doing map corrections and course setting for summer series next week. Confirmed why I never took up mapping as a career. Barely a control that didnt need a new building or some sort of works added - how much money does ANU have? Happy enough with courses and hope not too hot next week. Have set some loops, following GrantMs lead from his SS at the Pinnacles, so hopefully that will be fun and not too many crankys who go down the wrong line out of the pivot controls.

Anyway put it down for about an hour running. Oh and for the record Hoggster Katerinas was the only cafe I could find open and even then it shut at 3pm.
