Running 20:00 [3] 4.0 km (5:00 / km)
shoes: Brooks Cascadia 4 (Tractors)

to and fro Black Mount.

Orienteering intervals 40:00 [5] 8.0 km (5:00 / km)
shoes: Brooks Cascadia 4 (Tractors)

For about the only time I can remember I managed to have a say over what training Hoggster and I did when I first convinced him to run terrain and then do some o intervals. I felt a bit weary from yesterday and didnt orienteer very well at all but enjoyed racing hoggster round a few little courses. Bit of a dampener on the last when Hoggster rolled his ankle and limped home.

Running long 1:47:36 [3] 17.0 km (6:20 / km)
ahr:139 max:170 shoes: Saucony Triumph 5

An unusual Cockies long run on Saturday and starting from Belco Way car park on Black Mtn reserve. Had been awake since 4 with Zoe so needed some prodding from Belinda to go but ran over anyway. Big turn out and with no Hoggster I took some of the directional lead. We went round Little BM up Big BM, circumcision track and then back down the crackenback and looping to the cars except I turned off at last minute to run home. Running to and from start made it almost 110. Pretty sleepy tired by the end but as always ALJ sounded like she was actually getting less sleep than me so I should stop whinging!

Running 20:43 [3] 4.0 km (5:11 / km)
ahr:128 max:141 shoes: Saucony Triumph 4

8pm trot over too the Dees to let Duffy in. Had planned the run all day but when the time came just didnt want too. Still Duffy had to be let in so I went and felt much better for it.

Orienteering race 33:49 [5] 5.4 km (6:16 / km)
ahr:157 max:175 shoes: Brooks Cascadia 4 (Tractors)

Yarralumla Bays community lunch time event. Wanted to do some O and wanted to practice longer legs. I thought I lost time at easter on longer legs sort of "pottering along" rather than maintaining focus and noticed when i did ds hills map memory exercise that I didnt really recall the end of legs v. well. So I put this together and decided to focus on having in my mind a picture of the end of long legs and just the broad details up until then. It seemed to work well getting me running hard and confidently to the controls on long legs (with the small asterix it was on Yarralumla Bays - hardly Mt Kooyoora!). Also gave me a focus for a pretty nothing event. Lost time on two legs - No 7 when I spiked it for no flag. Had a check round and found the flag on the wrong feature about 75m away. I prob lost about a min and the course setter at the end apologised and said I was one of the few who actually went to the control. There was a tape on the correct spot. Second lost time was on last when I didnt really have a plan and lost maybe 30s hesitating and relocating.

Running race 14:43 [5] 2.9 km (5:04 / km)
ahr:165 max:179 weight:81kg shoes: Nike Air Span

Mt Ainslie Run up. Grandma did the duties with A&Z while I ran the run up. Felt poorly at the start after minimal warm up but then seemed to push on well. Pushed well when it flattened out a little which I was pleased about. Dont think my time was that flash but it felt way better than I expected.

Running warm up/down 30:00 [3] 5.0 km (6:00 / km)
ahr:140 max:180 shoes: Nike Air Span

2min warm up and then long way down with Andy, Patrick & JulieQ before giving them all a lift back to ANU where andy and I had a quick coffee at vanilla bean.
