Running long 1:50:09 [3] 22.0 km (5:00 / km)
ahr:139 max:159 shoes: Saucony Triumph 4

Blokes only turn-up at Majura long run with Dreaded, GrantM, DaveO, Hoggster and myself starting the journey. ALong back of Ainslie then up the Mt, HH, pines and Majura. I felt tired quads from the start and made some concessions through the pines running straight along fire trails while DaveO and Hoggster ran the single track while allowed me to get to top of Majura about 30s ahead of them. Coffee at the Sfog afterwards which was pretty good along with the raisin toast.

Running intervals 24:00 [5] 6.0 km (4:00 / km)
shoes: Saucony Triumph 4

6*3min ints round black mtn and aranda reserves with the hoggster. 1 min recoveries. Felt pretty good like tthe decent training over the last few weeks was helping. Finished the last as well as the first or at least it felt like it.

Running warm up/down 33:00 [3] 5.0 km (6:36 / km)
ahr:132 max:144 shoes: Saucony Triumph 4

Run over to GDE underpass and back from Bindubi underpass via Cook.

Cycling 53:00 [3]

Commuting. Had to stop to a damsel in distress on the way in. Her dress had got caught and practically merged with her rear wheel and rear brakes. Managed to extract the dress from the brakes without impacting on her modesty. Another day, another good deed.

Cycling warm up/down 21:00 [3]

Ride over to Black Mtn and back down the hill. Max speed on way down 60 k/hr.

Cycling hills 14:50 [5]

1 Black Mtn rep. Slow time but I'm not doing a lot of cycling at the mo. Nice break from work in middle of the day.

Running warm up/down 5:00 [3] 1.0 km (5:00 / km)
shoes: Asics GT2120

Orienteering race 32:46 [5] 4.5 km (7:17 / km)
shoes: Asics GT2120

SS at ANU, set by RobW. I made too many mistakes to count. Course was far too good for me and additionally quite a few times I said to myself "oh I know where that is" and promptly made a mistake. Hoggster caught me early and I dragged along behind him until I didnt notice an impassable fence about half way along a long leg. Well i noticed it once I got to it...... Great course, hot night and while the course beat me I enjoyed myself.

Running 34:30 [3] 7.0 km (4:56 / km)
ahr:139 max:157 shoes: Asics GT2120

Run in to work with Em to beat the heat. Bag was very heavy for first day at work in the new year - shoes, pants, a book, the works. Annoyingly the bag also contained Belinda's mobile phone which i scooped up in my rush to get going - not happy Jan!

Running 39:37 [3] 7.0 km (5:40 / km)
ahr:133 max:157 shoes: Asics GT2120

Run home. Different route choice home, hotter and stopped fiddling with ipod a couple of times without stopping watch - hence longer time.

AceJases Toenail Tips #1

So I've had for 10+ years now this dodgy big toe nail. basically my toe nail has been blotchy white and flaky to the point that some times random bits would fall off (i.e. in the middle not at the tip/top). No pain or spreading of flakiness to other toenails so just unsightly really. I was seeing the Podiatrist one day about orthotics and asked her about it and she said it was a psoriasas (or s-thing like that), was harmless, there was nothing you could do about it but it would be with me for life and might spread to other toenails. Bit disappointed about the life thing but hey there are worse things in the world.

Well I will now be able to go back to her and let her know there is a cure - run a marathon. Like all good marathoners after the Canberra Marathon last April the bottom half of both my big toenails went black and was generally rooted. But as the blackness has grown out over the last 9 months I noticed so was the psoriasas thingy. And sure enough over the last week with the final blackness grown out - no more psoriasas!

Acejase overcomes the incurable! They'll have me lecturing at podiatry school when this gets out.
