Running long 2:03:32 [4] 22.0 km (5:37 / km)
ahr:147 shoes: Asics GT2120

Long run. Up Majura via the triple tri track, lots of wiggles through the pines, up a new steep Ainslie track then down War memorial path and home behind Ainslie suburb. I was tired from the start, feeling yesterdays run, and very much just doing enough to keep in touch. Actually endurance wise I felt ok, more strength & speed were a bit weary. As per Coach instructions, and with a bit of encouragement from Miss Jones, I surged from the 1hr 50mark till home. Its a good thing to do as I very much felt the pain and effort that I felt at times during the marathon last year - keeping the pace up even though feeling awful. Miss Jones, Jo & Grant put the surge in also and showed me a clean pair of heels!

Big crowd at coffee at Sfoglia with Nat, belinda & the Dees joining us after having a trot at Majura. Coffee was good for mine.

Running warm up/down 14:26 [3] 3.0 km (4:49 / km)
ahr:131 max:166 shoes: Asics GT2120

Jog down to LakeG with Hoggster. Light rain.

Running tempo 29:52 [5] 7.1 km (4:12 / km)
ahr:163 max:180 shoes: Asics GT2120

As part of early stages of CanbMara08 training I cut a fast lap of Lake Ginninderra. Hoggster was doing ints and often within sight but never useful for pacing so it was a solo run. Ran solid but not extending myself as much as at an XC race except for last k or so when I was trying to get under 30mins. Looking at XC results I did 28.50 last year so 1min slower when running by myself is NTB. Weather was definitely better for running than a normal January XC race!

Running warm up/down 19:42 [3] 3.0 km (6:34 / km)
ahr:142 max:178 shoes: Asics GT2120

Run home again, a bit slower than on the way down.

MTB 1:10:18 [3]
ahr:119

the newly formed Tour de Roger wasnt going to work for me this morning so went for a solo MTB ride. Through Aranda Hill, Black Mtn reserve to Rani Rd, Cork plantation, a slog up Dairy Farmers Hill then cruisy back along the bike path from the Aquarium. Pretty cruisy but you always have to work up hills on the mtb and I was just trying to do an easy ride. Almost no single track.

Running 42:02 [3] 9.0 km (4:40 / km)
ahr:140 max:159 weight:85kg shoes: Asics GT2120

Steady morning run with the Hoggster. Round the classic loop till Aranda when we detoured along DS Hill to check out a house that we cant afford. At end of run picked up my parcel from Nike Quality Control (NQC). NQC claim there is nothing wrong with my Nike AstroBoys and sent them back to me!!! Or at least they claim that it wasnt a manufacturing fault. Apparantley I can call NQC to find out more details but guess I'll go on another run with them first.

Running warm up/down 36:43 [3] 7.0 km (5:15 / km)
ahr:135 max:148 shoes: Asics GT2120

Warms ups and downs along some tracks that never run before through the kind of state circle area between Parli House and Embassy land. Some nice little bush tracks and nice little forest bits.

Running intervals 20:00 [5] 5.0 km (4:00 / km)
ahr:155 max:167 shoes: Asics GT2120

Monna Fartlek with Jo & Al. Felt good although didnt have much speed in the surges. Nice to get training over and done with in the AM and having done good session. Al is getting quicker and Jo is in great shape. Museli at Al's place after and easily to work on time. Could become a regular session.

Cycling 53:00 [3]

Commuting via Al's in the morning. Saw Brucie and Carol at 6.50am as I sped (late of course) towards Al & Robs.

Hoggster gave me a written out training program for Canberra Marathon. Woah. Impressive work by Coach Hoggster. Will be more impressive if i get through the program.
