Orienteering race 1:59:47 [5] ***** 12.2 km (9:49 / km)
spiked:15/18c shoes: Brooks Tractor

Kooyoora State Park. Thought while I was out there that I should create a new AP category on my trog called 'Kooyoora Total Body Workout'. Certainly my running legs were still moderately ok by the end but my terrain running bits (back, arms, hips/itb) were all rooted. Great to be back at kooyoora. Its a bit thicker these days but course setter tried to keep us out of it as best as possible. Made a similar cracker mistake as yesterday but a bit more frustrating. Again uphill through a rock covered hillside. THis time I was much closer and was sure I was in right spot. Circled in and out to one spot 4 times, on the 4th time beginning to think I had marked control in the wrong spot (good ol Vic mark-your-own maps). But on the 4th time there it was! Not for long of course coz I punched the control and then hurled it about 100m down the hill before moving on gracefully. Rest of course was pretty good with some of those old Kooyoora enjoyable o moments coming through.

Orienteering race 1:13:14 [5] ***** 7.2 km (10:10 / km)
spiked:18/22c shoes: Brooks Tractor

Mt Korong. Supposedly middle distance but bit long for my middle distance. Winner Bruce did 52 so think a bit long for everyone. terrific area though with challenging courses. I got into the granite-groove well early. Unfortunately I also got going a bit fast and spent my energy a bit early. Orienteered really well till about control 9 when I made a doozy of a mistake. Up a hill through heaps of granite with brain fading I reckon I lost 6mins. At least my body freshened up with the standing still. Final result was pretty hopeless but I still suspect better than at easter last year.

Run in to work with Hoggster. Another nice breakfast although hoggster complained sharply about not enough butter on his cinnamon toast. The owner/waiter responded with butter to quench the hoggsters issue.

reverse concrete-bastard with tear drop addition. chilly morning and could still feel tuesday's hills in the legs. saw a dog towards the end that reminded me of George El-Hage's dog diesel. Luckily this mornings dog didnt go me like Diesel would've.
