Running long 1:31:47 [3] 18.0 km (5:06 / km)
ahr:137 shoes: Nike Air Persies3

Long run out to and around yesterdays's discovered Nat Park/Nature reserve. Nice sandy trails with beaches, views, mangroves and a few too many motorbikes (assume they are from the convention). Felt good although a bit stop-starty checking out views, tracks and talking to Belinda who was doing a walk round the same area. Again with the wet stuff falling from the sky. Last long run before marathon!

Running tempo 33:00 [3] 5.0 km (6:36 / km)
shoes: Nike Air Persies3

cruising round looking for somewhere to do some intervals. eventually settled for a hilly dirt road that went out to the N-something-or-other Nature Park. Strange wet substance falling from the sky.

Running intervals 12:00 [5] 3.0 km (4:00 / km)
shoes: Nike Air Persies3

4 * 90s efforts with 60s floats in between trying to simulate aranda ovals session. 2 of the efforts up fairly steep hills. Felt fine - just warming up really when I stopped!

Running 38:04 [3] 7.0 km (5:26 / km)
ahr:128 max:145 shoes: Nike Air Persies3

Easy run from Lake Canjola exploring surrounds. About 10mins along beach (sorry coach) and rest round the nooks and crannys of the town. I think there must be some sort of bogan convention on at the Lake Canjola caravan park.

was so determined on diet yesterday I lost a kilo!

Note
weight:83kg

after hitting 82 a few weeks ago weight is creeping back up. I think a combination of me being slack in the diet front and consuming stray easter eggs and biscuits round the office (people shouldnt leave them out) and decrease in volume of training as marathon approaches. Renewed efforts required.

Running warm up/down 20:00 [3] 4.0 km (5:00 / km)
shoes: Nike Air Zoom Elite

run to and from acton ferry terminal. run back was a bit slower! run over the road was closed near new apartments while they were using a crane to assemble and install plasma screen tv in robw and alj's new place. looked good guys although on the way back looked a bit more like a rofftop cooling system.

Running tempo 1:05:40 [5] 15.7 km (4:11 / km)
ahr:165 max:177 shoes: Nike Air Zoom Elite

Last hard effort before marathon doing a Waste Basin with ACTRun crowd. Started out with big group, most of whom i knew would be quicker than me - hoggster, daveO, scott imhoff etc. As a result went a bit faster than intended for first 2-3k before running at my own pace with Jackie Fairweather in front of me and Patrick's mate Graeme behind. Graeme and I ran together for a little way but a well instigated conversation about heart rates caused him to drop off. Didnt really feel that great - sore quads for first 15mins or so and rumbling guts for a lot of it which led to me grabbing some water at the yacht Club. Worked hard on my own and was happy with time - did 68.15 for same loop plus a little bit (race was 16.1k) 10 days ago.
