Not the best result. Going well till last control. Was convinced it wasn't my control, so I wasted 3-4 mins looking for it and then realised I had punched. Cost me a place. I really need to stop self doubting myself.

Sprint Champs. Silly stuff up from last control to finish. Map was 3.1km so pretty happy with routes, apart from last control .

Thank god we had decent weather. No rain and warming up . Had a great swim. 21.25, 3rd out of the water, but a minute behind the 2 leaders, a Belgium and another Australian. Transition not bad, 4th fastest out of water onto bike. 3rd fastest time on bike 1:09.35, 5 mins behind leader and 1.30 min behind Aussie. Still sitting in 3rd after bike. T2 wasn't bad, but couldn't find rack, event crew had to shout out for me to find. Run let me down. First 5km ok, but felt wrecked. Was aiming for a 40minute run but well over. First lap probably around 21minute mark and then died. Had one of the slowest runs. Admittedly didn't do enough run training due to 3weeks of injury. Really impacted the end result. Happy enough to finish 5th though. Have learnt a lot from this experience. Hope to make the Junior elite team next year, but will nominate for both Age Sprint and Olympic next year as it's on te Gold Coast.
