ACT Metro League at Campbell Park offices. Wanted to just run steady, focus on navigation, and eliminate the little mistakes from my last few runs. I achieved that more-or-less. I had little wobbles on a few legs, only 5-10s in each case. I was beating Craney for a while mid-race, I think a first for me, after he made a big error, but I dropped 1.10 to him on #10 thanks to taking a safe route with too much climb and he edged away in the last few. Good runs by some of the juniors to be only 30s down.

Control picking exercise. Fairly smooth but there were a couple of spots where I had to slow down and sort things out.

My first cold weather run in Canberra, up just after 6am for some hills on the ridge. It was cold, about 2 deg, but otherwise a very nice morning. I got to watch sun rise right at the end of my run. This is probably the coldest run I've done since Canada. Did 4 x 550m hills with about 40m climb each rep. Since the hill is only little, to get a decent amount of climb I had to start down in the streets and climb the gate on each rep.

On the jog down from the first rep I realised I could vault the gate. I tried to do it on the way up in the next rep and that nearly ended flat on my face in front of a walker.

I also discovered that while vaulting with my left hand and left leg was easy doing it right hand and right leg first felt impossible. If you'd been nearby, you could have seen me looking an idiot doing practice jumps before I could even bring myself to (successfully) attempt it!

Times were 2:46, 2:46, 2:48, 2:46.
