After several hours trying to get the yard looking acceptable I decided I needed a quick run so popped out for a lap of the reservoir and then on single-track across Coot-tha. I felt good, as I often do running on subsequent days, but there was definitely some fatigue in my legs from yesterday.

Long run from Anna's with Mat, and Anna and Clare in the beginning. We did two ascents of Coot-tha: Toilet Block and Highwood Rd Tr. Mat wanted to do an extra loop through Gap Ck but I convinced this would be long enough. It was a wise decision as he was struggling a bit today. I was feeling really good and strong on the hills, I'm not sure what I've done to deserve that but I'll take it anyway. Right hip flexors started getting sore the second time over but didn't get too bad. I felt strong enough at end to surge the last km.

I was recalling some of my first long runs in Brisbane after the run. I remember feeling pretty shattered after many of them, one particular post-run visit to Ikea when I could barely summon two brain cells comes to mind. By contrast, today's run has barely registered and it was nice to realise the improvement.
