Warm up from UQ through Dutton Park to Gardens Point.

QUT Classic 10km race. The route started at Gardens Point, wound through the campus before a half lap of the park, then across the Goodwill Bridge, up the river through Southbank, across the Kurilpa Bridge to the turn-around point and home with a slightly shorter route through the gardens. I paced my race pretty nicely (based on effort) after a slow start from about 6 rows back and was gaining on the field around me most of the race. I made it up into 4th place at about 7km and held it until 9.5km, then a guy in an orange t-shirt made a sprint for the line that I had no answer for. Very happy with the time. It's about 1:40 less than my previous PB from a slightly more hilly and windier course in Toowoomba.

A Mona's fartlek up at the reservoir as final preparation for a 10km race on Sunday. Didn't feel super spritely but seemed to be going okay. I'm not sure whether I've got the distance right or whether I've counted one too many laps - about 40s/km difference. I choose to believe 5.2km is correct.

There were the usual number of dog walkers and joggers up there this morning. I kept passing one particular guy going the opposite way around and it seemed that the start of an on interval occurred whenever he was only a few minutes in front of me. It must have looked like I was taking off every time I saw him.

Ints at UQ with Bomb and James. Nice little session and enjoyed running at UQ again and having a partner helped to keep the effort level up. Not all that fast but a good start.
