Long run from the in-laws' in Toowoomba. Up West Ck, down East Ck, up to Picnic Point and then straight back to West Ridge. I wanted to a run around 1.45 but I'd left my watch in Brissy so I decided to re-run a route from a couple of years back, when we'd just returned to Australia, that I remembered had taken me 1.45. I was a little disappointed when I finished to find that I'd done it a bit faster but I suppose it's a good sign particularly as I did it in reasonable comfort only really tiring on the final ascent of West Ridge.

Right knee was a bit of a bother but it didn't seem to get any worse. It seems to be the same problem as just before Christmas - pain the proximal, medial aspect of my right tibia. It's possibly patellofemoral pain; a cue to do some strength work.

Lunchtime sweat-fest heat-o-rama.10 x 30s with 1min rests from KG down to GP and around the gardens. Started to feel the heat and tire near the end and was glad to finish. Nice to do some speedier training though. Ankle complained occasionally wearing the Free's but it didn't seem to get worse and was never of a severity to warrant stopping.

The flood damaged part of the gardens, quite a substantial part right in the middle, is still fenced off, plus another part closer to Alice St.

A longer than usual early morning run. From home I went through Chapel Hill to the Bielby Rd trail head, down Bellbird, up Jacksonia, and then along the top until coming down Honeyeater and back home. Jacksonia was a real struggle but was otherwise pretty comfortable with a slightly higher pace than usual on anything flatish. Quads very tired now.

My right ankle is being niggly and had a couple of painful moments for no obvious reason. This problem started with a sprain right after last year's QLD champs. The ankle's stability has improved but every now and then an innocuous step is painful, so something is not quite right down there.
