Orienteering race (Fail) 11:00 [3] *** 2.0 km (5:30 / km)

Cyclones sprint series at UQ St Lucia. I was a bit scrappy on the micro-route choice on the first two, then stuffed around with the fence at 4, picked a shocking route choice to 5 (around the road to the left and then on little paths, -30s), and then ran to 7, then 6, then headed back toward 5 via the Great Court where Ewan saw me and screamed as I ran away, and then I realised that the next one should be number 8 and that I've done the last two in the wrong order and it's a long way back past a screaming baby ... fail.

I hoped afterwards that I'd been blindingly fast through the first 5 and at least have some split wins to save face and a macho reason to have failed but no ... in fact I was slow ... I maybe would have had the fastest time on 6 if I hadn't stopped to punch 7 ...

At least when I look at the results I see I wasn't the only one to fail ... none of guys managed to beat Rachel.

More drills. Ankles didn't hurt during hopping this time but the right one was still bothersome during twisty sideways running.

8 x 10s steep hill sprints. Felt less spritely than last time, maybe because I didn't do the squat session last night. I find that a weight session sometimes makes me feel stronger the next day. I probably don't do them hard enough but seeing as I only get around to them rarely it's not surprising.

Ran in some new gear thanks to a birthday gift voucher including a new singlet. Consequently I have got quite burnt shoulders. Happened a lot quicker than I expected but I guess it was in that 10am-2pm period.
