Long run from the Emily's house in Sherwood with a small group. We were a pretty unmotivated group because of the heat and humidity, and there were plenty of rest and drinks breaks, and a shameful amount of walking near the end.

Orienteering race 19:42 [4] *** 3.5 km (5:38 / km) +25m 5:26 / km
spiked:12/14c shoes: Nike Free 5.0 (grey/green)

Sprint race out at Robelle Domain in Springfield. Great course set by Mikko including a long leg a range of route choices and a few other tricky legs. The heat and lack of running lately got to me and by 2/3 distance was pretty stuffed. Technique was okay for the first half but undisciplined in the second half.

Orienteering 10:00 [3] 1.5 km (6:40 / km)

Felt like I hadn't done enough orienteering so did an extra 10 minutes. Probably wasn't going fast enough or concentrating enough to make it useful.

Orienteering race (Street-O) 36:33 [4] 8.1 km (4:31 / km) +120m 4:12 / km

Street-O at Bridgeman Downs and first hard hit out in since club relays. Didn't feel super but not too bad. Got beaten by Little Doyle by about 1.15. Route choice seemed pretty tough. I'm pretty sure my route and choice of dropped controls wasn't optimal, I would have like to have dropped #4, but I'm not sure what was best.

Edit: looks like I did at least 500m too far ... so definitely sub-optimal choices.

Running long 1:50:00 [2] 19.5 km (5:38 / km) +515m 4:59 / km
shoes: Adidas Supernova Control 9

Long run from home via Anzac Park, Simpsons Falls, Channel 9, lookout, Honeyeater, Chapel Hill. This run, my first serious long run since Oceania, wasn't one I was looking forward to. About 15min in I was starting to feel some serious CBF'ed-ness but gave myself an expletive filled gee-up and by the time I'd got through Anzac Park I was moving along okay. It became a bit of a struggle near the end - a few of the regular complainants required some judicious stretching - but it was better than I had feared. Now I just need to make sure I get over the restarting training hump properly ...

The bruising in my knees from the Oceania sprint was aggravated by this run - that's over 6 weeks since I had the fall. If it's doesn't resolve soon I'll start wondering seriously whether I've done something more serious.

Run from home up Coot-tha via Twisty's Lower and then down Honeyeater. My legs didn't cope too badly but I was puffing like a steam engine. Nice to be out in the morning again though a 6:30am start is getting a little late.
