Windmill Hill Brown, 7.9 / 295
We're in semi-lockdown so another excursion to Windmill Hill for a Solo-O (re-running a military race from last week).
The area never disappoints and the tapes were much easier to find, partly because they were bigger and partly because of the limited number of British Control Sites*.
Nav and speed were both surprisingly decent too so it felt almost like a normal race. I ended up about 3 minutes down on the mil race winner - and it would have been a tad quicker with controls rather than tapes.
Saw a few other orienteers out and Abi even reported a sighting of the rare lesser-spotted Couldridge.
*British Control Sites = Ones that are so vague that they would not be used in any other country. Prime examples include 'a random point on a line feature' (often an earthwall or gully) and 'somewhere random in a huge shallow reentrant' (often so huge that there is no brown line inside the circle)
