'Controlling' the September Street-O from St Pancras. This one will be MapRun only so I thought it would be sensible to check the controls actually worked. 2 didn't so it was a useful exercise.

MapRun continues to impress as I used the 'HITMO' function after the race (HITMO = Hey, I think it missed one) to add in the two missing controls. But I also moved them on the final map & increased the tolerance so hopefully it shouldn't happen too often.

A really cool loop including everything from rough-looking estates to fancy Georgian terraces, plus Regent's Park, some Bloomsbury Gardens, the new Kings Cross developments and the Carreras building in Mornington Crescent - a huge art deco cat-themed hulk that used to be a cigarette factory but is now the ASOS HQ - who knew?!

Nominally this is a 60 minute score but doing them all and hanging around for the beep in places made it 90 - not helped by ebbing fitness draining my motivation & leading to a load of small mistakes.

Lots of bits hurting afterwards but nothing major.

The cat once again decided to sit on me while I was doing leg raises.

Re running the Wimbledon MapRun, this time with only the Garmin.

Erratic GPS particularly at the end where I had to wait over 30s at each of the last 3 controls. Only a few seconds at the others, but still enough to break the flyt, which was otherwise pretty good today.

Body held together OK but I bent over the foot again - really need to tape every time or buy myself an ankle brace.

The shock news of the day was that my beloved Swedish knot came undone halfway round, for the first time in years. I assume it was user error and the design is still as robust as ever.

Minley Army League, Blue course, 6.0/100

A really good race today. Just the right combination of aggressive running and - sometimes only just - staying in control.

28 flags on 6k and a 1:7500 map made it a control pick, with lots of paths and vegetation thrown in. It wasn't particularly hard but 100% concentration was needed the whole time.

2nd again, this time to Adam Conway who I expected would beat me. But it was only 17 seconds, and 3rd place was 3 minutes down already.

Foot and calf didn't feel great but I don't think it's costing me much speed and somehow it's all holding together for now. I might be living on borrowed time but I'm going to enjoy it while it lasts.
