November Classic, The New Forest
Brown, 11.2/280

Boo hiss. After a week’s hacking cough, the body was weak and after a promising start, got progressively more tired. With that came some mistakes including a 3 minute whopper right before the end, where I’m still convinced the control was in the wrong place.

On the plus side, the New Forest was lovely as always (despite it being really wet) with wild ponies, cows and donkeys. So overall type 1.5 fun.

Family holiday in Austria, usual loop around Going.

Have had a cough all week but decided to go for it and see whether I’d survive - worked out reasonably well although pretty tough on the long climbs in the middle.

For extra fun, a local farmer had fenced off a bit of field right across the track where the route goes, and put a load of cows into it. As we all know, cows are VICIOUS KILLING MACHINES so I tiptoed through looking at them menacingly. Pleased to have survived to tell the tale.
