In Disko Bay, Greenland. Not really that much effort but I really wanted to track the route....

Arctic Midnight Orienteering, with Kenny.

As Kenny would say: “So, Greenland...”. It is certainly worth doing once in your life but it is also certainly pretty hardcore. Start at 11pm, finish at 2:30am, and neither of us could fall asleep until 6am this morning (and London is 3 hours ahead of that).

Really wild arctic terrain making for slow going - moss, marsh and rock plus lots of climb. We ran around together and luckily had about the same speed. Nav was a bit shaky in places but no major issues.

We had some thoughts of winning this, but they were quickly dispelled when the two Swedish brothers legged it off up the hill. (They are around 400th in the Swedish ranking list so that should have been obvious). We also got beaten by the local hero (who normally wins) and very narrowly by Cecilie Andersen, a really good 21-year old from the UK - mildly embarrassing but never mind.

Some amazing views of the iceberg strewn bay along the way, and Kenny took lots of pictures with his GoPro. The only mild bummer was that the weather was drizzly and didn’t really clear up as forecast. But at least no fog.

Also does Greenland count as a country?
