Running 56:45 [4] 5.0 mi (11:21 / mi) +700m 7:55 / mi

In Yosemite. Running from trailhead parking in the Valley up to the top of Nevada falls via John Muir Trail. Quite steep but all switchbacks so definitely runnable.

Fantastic day out, highly recommend doing "running hiking", you just get there so much faster and you get lots of adulation from people on the way.

Beautiful view from the top, too.

Didn't have a Camelbak and was a bit worried about dehydration, so just took a 0.5l plastic bottle along stuffed on the side of my o trousers. That worked really well. Took a banana on the other side of the trousers too. No, honestly.

Running 28:00 [4] 4.0 mi (7:00 / mi) +100m 6:30 / mi

Some faster stuff on top of Nevada Falls, an out and back to Little Yosemite Valley

Running 44:00 [2] 4.0 mi (11:00 / mi) +100m 10:12 / mi

Downhill from Nevada Falls over some really steep steps. There was a bit of uphill somewhere though. And lots of people in the way

Orienteering race 1:34:50 [4] 7.3 km (12:59 / km) +630m 9:04 / km

BAOC race on Briones National Park. Lovely area to look at (rolling hills and all), but insane race really. Spent about 10% of time actually running, the rest walking up, down or sideways along the hills. BIG hills. And a 1:10 and 7.5m countour map (which was actually very good) says it all. Apparently "a typical Bay Area terrain"...

Does look like I won the Blue course though. Sweet.
