Orienteering 1:02:37 [4] 8.5 km (7:22 / km) +250m 6:25 / km

French Club Champs, Mulhouse. Ran leg 3 of a 10-leg relay (we are in Division 1 of 4). Mass start in the dark at 5am, I started around 6:45

Not a very good race despite good calm start. Made 4 minutes of mistakes overall over 4 controls, could partly blame the generalized mapping, but I just wasn't concentrating hard enough at times. I blame it on the early start (woke up at 3:45 am)

On my leg I was 14th of 20, but against many of the best in France. Best time, 50'. With 57 or so (easily doable), could have come 7th.

Our team also finished 14th of 20, so me made it into division 1 for next year. Disappointing result though, was hoping for at least 10th..hopes were thrashed when first leg runner came back 18th already 25 minutes down.

But the format is brilliant, can highly recommend it!

Orienteering 37:07 [4] 5.7 km (6:31 / km) +170m 5:40 / km

National Middle Distance race, Mulhouse, France.

15th overall of 309 starters (!!!) - possibly one of my best races ever. Technically difficult terrain due to "floating" veg boundaries and controls right in the dark green. Slow speed, but very controlled and no mistakes, except a few seconds here and there.

Winner - God aka Thierry Georgiou, 28:34. Wow.

Running 26:53 [3] 6.0 km (4:29 / km)

Short tourist run, pretty fast. Felt good, and heel cushions seem to work (no pain today)

Strength 30:00 [3]

2 sets, run scheduled for tomorrow (extra day's rest, and it was raining anyway)
