Running 32:00 [3] 6.0 km (5:20 / km)

Tough run at lunchtime. It was really hot and I was tired, plus there were lots of people out on the streets. Not enjoyable.

Running 55:00 [3] 12.0 km (4:35 / km)

Run back from Chaville (train) to St Cloud. Nice to be back in the forest and the leg doesn't hurt much, either

Orienteering 45:00 [2] 5.0 km (9:00 / km)

National event in Chamrousse, France.
At least in theory.
14.7k+800m, won by Tero in 1h48.
It wasn't my day. Had a 9am start time and felt totally tired from lack of sleep and from previous day (also really bad back). Then picked up the wrong sport ident. Then picked up the wrong map, went to no.1, figured it out (after a while), ran back and got a new one. Then ran straight past no.3 without even looking, at which point I figured it was time to think about life a little bit. So I sat down and admired the mountains. Knowing there was no way I would finish the course, I then decided to run up to a nice looking lake, sat there for a while, and did a few controls on the way back down.

Funny how far you can "fall" in just 2 months (comparing this run to, say, the relay in Vaux de Cernay)

Orienteering 1:02:34 [3] 6.1 km (10:15 / km) +250m 8:31 / km

Medium distance race in Chamrousse, France. We arrived late for the elite race and started with a bunch of others at the same time, which made it a little bit easier.

Totally shafted, and even though it was mostly downhill it was tough due to the runnability - either ski slopes covered with small rocks, or hillsides covered in mossy shit.

Surprisingly, relatively few mistakes. Thierry G, 42. Neil D., 59.

Orienteering 1:00:00 [3] 10.0 km (6:00 / km)

Great Falls, MD (near Washington) with William, Boris and Abi. Some orienteering on "the island", some running through nice forest, some sightseeing, some sitting around.

what a wonderful place! Waterfalls, herons, ducks, great terrain..

Running 45:00 [3] 10.0 km (4:30 / km)

Run with "the team" (Will, Boris, Misha, Karen, Kenny, Abi) in Washington - mostly on roads and some on paved bits through a "forest". Leg hurt a bit, and fairly tired from jetlag
