Running 58:24 [3] 8.2 mi (7:07 / mi)

Jamaica Pond. Pretty slow, but felt good for a change. Three cheers for the weather, it's still ridiculously warm!

Thursday Nov 29, 2001 #

Gym (Bike) 35:00 [3]

5 mins warmup, then 18+12 hill rep. The nice thing about this is that you can read the paper while working out (obviously not working out hard enough...)

Wednesday Nov 28, 2001 #

Running 44:10 [3] 6.1 mi (7:14 / mi)

Shad to N Beacon, plus the path. Felt quite good today (felt slower than it was)

Tuesday Nov 27, 2001 #

Running 32:48 [3] 4.6 mi (7:08 / mi)

Shad to Arsenal. Tired.

Strength 15:00 [3]

one set

Sunday Nov 25, 2001 #

Running 1:03:36 [3] 8.7 mi (7:19 / mi)

A little further around the perimeter fence. Exciting, ha?

Saturday Nov 24, 2001 #

Running 44:15 [3] 6.1 mi (7:15 / mi)

Around the airport perimeter fence in Las Vegas. I'm tired...

Wednesday Nov 21, 2001 #

Running 1:06:29 [3] 9.2 mi (7:14 / mi)

Shad to Watertown. Lovely sun, but a little early in the day for me (10am)

Tuesday Nov 20, 2001 #

Running 40:56 [4] 6.0 mi (6:49 / mi)

Shad to North Harvard. Felt much better and faster than I have lately, hopefully it's going uphill from here.

Unfortunately, when I packed my running bag this morning I only skimmed the weather forecast (hi 60, lo 25) when I should have read the smallprint (after the showers clear in the late morning, it will be freezing cold with a mother of a windchill). No wonder people looked at me strange in short and tshirt.

Gym 5:00 [2]

Warm down on the exercise bike. Too cold outside.

Monday Nov 19, 2001 #

Strength 35:00 [3]

Two sets.

Sunday Nov 18, 2001 #

Orienteering 59:14 [3] 5.0 mi (11:51 / mi)

Boxford State Forest, 6.0+150. Even though the planning was pretty simplistic, and the woods are crappy in places, I liked it. ok technically, one stupid mistake.

Friday Nov 16, 2001 #

Running 58:24 [3] 8.2 mi (7:07 / mi)

Jamaica Pond. Felt ok, but couldn't crank up the speed. At least I didn't feel too tired at the end, so I think that I can do long runs as long as I keep them slow.

Thursday Nov 15, 2001 #

Running 36:50 [3] 5.1 mi (7:13 / mi)

River to Harvard +1. Felt better than yesterday (but going slower as well). Low HR (avg 139). Am trying not to feel too optimistic. Jamaica Pond tomorrow will give more clues hopefully.

Wednesday Nov 14, 2001 #

Running 42:09 [3] 6.0 mi (7:02 / mi)

LA to North Harvard, from Shad. This is about as fast as I can go right now. Boo-hoo

Monday Nov 12, 2001 #

Strength 40:00 [3]

Abi's drill. Twice, no less.

Sunday Nov 11, 2001 #

Orienteering 1:15:00 [3] 9.0 km (8:20 / km)

First six controls of the Blue Hills Traverse, and then easy back with Boris (mostly). Ran off with (ahead of) the pack for the first control or two and then got gradually slower. Must admit there was also a lack of motivation considering the crappiness of the terrain.

Saturday Nov 10, 2001 #

Running (Trails) 49:00 [3] 6.5 mi (7:32 / mi)

Around Middlesex Fells with Will and Abi. Felt ok as long as I was going slow.

Thursday Nov 8, 2001 #

Running 43:50 [3] 6.1 mi (7:11 / mi)

La to N Harvard from Shad, with the path. Felt a little better today but still way off my best.

Went to do a blood test but unfortunately won't find out the results until next Wednesday.

Note: Path is 2.06 to first arc.

Tuesday Nov 6, 2001 #

Running 35:00 [3] 4.6 mi (7:37 / mi)

LA to Arsenal from Shad, with the path.

Sunday Nov 4, 2001 #

Running 21:30 [3] 3.0 mi (7:10 / mi)

Monson Half Marathon. Gave up after 3 miles from exhaustion, just couldn't run anymore. Will have myself checked out tomorrow and stop running for the time being.

Saturday Nov 3, 2001 #

Running 37:59 [2] 5.1 mi (7:27 / mi)

Two easy loops around Fresh Pond, with Abi

Thursday Nov 1, 2001 #

Running 1:02:43 [3] 8.9 mi (7:03 / mi)

LA to Watertown. After one year of running this I have decided that "my" loop (with all the paths between N Harvard and Watertown on the way out, including theo ne right after N Harvard bridge around the fence; and also a loop left after the ice rink on the way back) has to be longer than the official 8.7m. There was no way I was just running 7:15 today, even 7:02 seems slower than it was.

Bit worried about having a stress fracture in my left leg, must have that looked at tomorrow.
