Strength 50:59 [1]
ahr:111 max:145

StrenghtFit class at Elite Performance Fitness. This was much more traditional strength than the PowerFit class that I did before. 4 x 40 seconds of an exercise with 50 seconds rest. Did: single arm rows, skull crushers, deadlifts, walking lunges, kneeling overhead press, and sled pushes.

Muna was a bit of a menace last night so I anticipate I will crash this afternoon.

Downhill Skiing 1:08:51 [1]

First ski day in Whistler for the year. We went with Anna, Thom, and their friend David. Took us a little while to get everything sorted and to figure out everyone's ski levels and desires. It was pretty stormy up at the top and the snow was kind of wet and heavy and changed texture as you went down, but at least it had good coverage (didn't hit a single icy bit). There were also pretty much no line ups for the chairlifts (after the initial slow uploading process because of winds). The snow got a bit better in the afternoon as I think the temperature dropped. Only managed to fit in about 7 runs, but that was probably good for the first day anyways. Fun! :)

Strength 50:00 [1]

Did a barre class at a studio nearby to use up some of my ClassPass credits before I go away for the holidays. So much burning. Those classes are tough! Nice studio though and the instructor was good. It's only a block away, which seems key for a super rainy, dark, early morning class. There were only 4 of us, so we got lots of attention on form. HR wasn't working for some reason.

Running 48:12 [2] 8.08 km (5:58 / km) +17m 5:54 / km
shoes: Asics Cumulus 17

3 x 15 minutes and 1 minute walk. Longest I've run in quite some time! Calf is feeling a little sore the day after. Generally felt good throughout the run though. It was supposed to be at a recovery pace, but I think it was a bit faster than what I would currently run for a recovery pace.

Biking 38:47 [3] 15.36 km (2:31 / km)

Forgot to charge my watch, so no HR data. Power Cycle class at Cyklus with Oscar. I liked the structure of tonight's class. I was feeling fairly strong, especially on the last 4 minute watts challenge.

Dragon boating 1:17:21 [1] 5.92 km (13:04 / km)
ahr:102 max:141

It’s getting too cold for me, especially as this practice had lots of sitting around as we were doing bench by bench or front/back stuff. I really need some gloves as well. Biking home while wet and cold isn’t super pleasant. We have a break for a couple of weeks. This practice was with the mixed team that also has our coaches, so that was neat. Our boat actually was moving well!

Running 32:12 [2] 5.33 km (6:02 / km) +10m 5:59 / km
ahr:159 max:182 shoes: Asics Cumulus 17

Allan McGavin Run Club. Fartlek session tonight. Did 2 x 15 seconds, 2 x 30 seconds, 2 x 60 seconds, 2 x 90 seconds, 2 x 60 seconds, 2 x 30 seconds, and 2 x 15 seconds (rest intervals were same length as working interval). Made the run go by quickly. Time includes a warm up and some A, B, C running drills. Left glute was feeling a little weird, should maybe get back on my glute exercises.

Biking 42:45 [3] 16.78 km (2:33 / km)
ahr:160 max:179

Power Cycle at Cyklus. Had a mix of drills. I generally felt pretty strong today, which was nice as I've been feeling very fatigued lately. I got my iron tested and it was normal, so can't blame it on that.

Biking 1:09:59 [3] 25.2 km (2:47 / km)
ahr:154 max:180

Endurance Ride at Cyklus. Feeling pretty exhausted, so wasn't pushing very hard. A nice class with a combination of cadence drills, climbs, and average watts test. Oscar was feeling keen and wanted to do the 8am Saturday class.

Dragon boating 1:09:52 [1] 5.82 km (12:00 / km)
ahr:113 max:158

Dragon boat practice. Lucked out with the weather as it was actually fairly sunny. Hand was definitely numb though and need to get gloves (MEC is all out of their small sizes in their stores). I get pretty cramped and cold afterwards. Really trying to focus on powerful paddling technique. Not sure if spin and dragon boating is a good combo, I'm pretty exhausted afterwards, especially since it's getting cold and I have a hard time warmer up when I get home.
