Good run at the EYOC 2018 Long distance race today in very wet and technical conditions. On looking back at my race I am very happy but I am annoyed that j wasn't as fit as I should have been due to exams. I also don't think I chose the optimal route for the two long legs but I can learn from my mistakes. I was happy with my run overall as I finished in 96th out of 118.

EYOC 2018 sprint race today in the very technical Tsaravets fortress area. The fortress area was very tough with a very short first leg. I made a huge mistake on the second control which threw me off for the third to fifth controls as well. I doubted myself and so it was a confidence issue more than an ability issue. Disappointed with my result as I ended 107th/115 but I also wasn't as fit going into this competition due to my exams. All in all it was a great experience running for Ireland again.

Model sprint race around Veliko Tarnovo this afternoon. Some technical areas but out training was cut slightly short due to a thunderstorm and the maps not being water proof.

Model Long distance around the same area as yesterday. We had a short course which was very challenging due to very sloppy conditions on the hills but my route spices were good and I was relatively quick.

This morning was our first sprint training in Arbanasi. Beginning with a long uphill jog to the area followed by a good session of sprint relocation training followed by a few chasing start runs to put us under a wee bit of pressure. Felt to get out on the hilly Bulgarian terrain and get my head into their maps.

Long/Relay training in the forest around our hotel. Some very technical and hilly forest terrain to begin our training before the Long Distance on Saturday. It was good to get a feel for how runable the green is.

First run out in a long time due to exams and revision. Getting back into running before EYOC next week in Bulgaria with an easy 5k session at a reasonable pace due to my lack of training. I felt good throughout the run although I do recognise that I am not as fit as I want to be at the minute however my goal is to change this over summer.
