orienteering race 1:40:00 [4]

Geneseo county park. Lots of trails, enough to make it feel more like a ski-o layout than a foot-o. One stupid ski-o mistake on #5, approached on the wrong trail, then several poor route choices. Hot and humid, my shirt was completely soaked after the event. A scare picking up controls when it looked like I had lost a control box. Happily it was there all along, mixed in with the flags I brought back.

Kayaking 3:07:00 [3] 12.27 mi (15:14 / mi)

Hemlock lake, half daylight, half night paddle with Stina. A lot more people than we are used to seeing out at night, even two kayaks going south with a stern light. Hot enough that the daylight portion was best paddled in the shade. With the cloud cover and the hill side acting as screens there was some neat lighting along the eastern shore as the sun was setting. Saw what appears to be the new resident bald eagle. I think it the same one I saw by the dead fish with a dead fish in its mouth a couple of months ago.

Roller skiing 1:10:00 [3] 16.33 km (14.0 kph)

The canal path with Stina. Another hot day. Technique is getting better, more centered over the ski and less angle on the skis. Looking forward to cooler weather, but not the shorter day length. Recent viewing of coordination drills on YouTube make me think I need to do some of that.

Mountain bike 1:40:00 [3] 7.7 mi (4.6 mph)

Ocp with Stina. Upper brown, yellow, red, purple, and the campground trail. About 1/2 with lights. Things were a bit damp which lead to slippery roots and sand sticking to the tires. Once things got dark my speed got slower and I had problems with the front tire sliding. Fell a couple times and saved it a couple. I'm thinking of putting on a more knobby type tire.
