Running 1:00:00 [3]

run with James on Coottha, or suffering while james waited for me to catch up. short-ish loop from slaughter falls. ran a new track that crosses above slaughter falls and contours around to the track before the gold mine, then ran the gold mine - art trails loop back to the main slaughter falls trail. some slow going as the tracks are pretty sketchy, plus the post flight dehydration, jet lag, humidity soup and blisters on my soft non-running feet. good to get out though. welcome back to qld summer!

Cycling 2:30:00 [3]

Last ride for the trip - Bootleg canyon at Boulder city near Las Vegas. this area was probably the most technical overall that we rode, and heaps of rain overnight meant it was slippery and some of the lines pretty eroded. the trails also had a habit of disappearing and leaving only sections of cliff to traverse. definitely walked those.
heaps of cool colours in the rocks after the rain - bright yellow, pinks and reds.

Running 15:00 [2]

short run around the hill from our bush camp site to the visitor centre. raining. weird.

Cycling 2:00:00 [3]

sort of picked a gap in the rain for a ride at Kingman - monolith gardens and foothill trail. the rain and wind came back as soon as we were out far enough that we were committed, and we got very cold. trails were cool - in crazy volcanic rock, with sections of lava flow. I think they would have been great on a good day, but we didn't get the views, and it was pretty slippery and I struggled cos my hands and feet were too cold.
