Orienteering 3:07:00 [1]

Tagging control sites at Kholo Hills with Alison, for the OY in 2 weeks time. The area is pretty runnable at the moment, with the lantana and grass having died back with the recent dry weather. Courses have been set for interesting route choice and avoiding the worst of the hills. I think Alison has done a great job with the course setting and I hope everyone enjoys them in 2 weeks time.

Last day skiing. Very windy early, but ended up being a fine day. Had a few goes at a different (and much steeper) black run, but it was crash-tastic, so after 3 attempts I stuck to what I knew I could do and skied the fun stuff fast(er). 9650 m for the day.

Sunny day at Coronet. Tired legs to start with, but got going after a couple of runs. Even survived my first black run without thinking I was going to die. Dan has given up on me keeping up. 9222 m for the day.

Skiing 6:00:00 [2]

At Coronet Peak today. It was snowing when we woke up this morning, and chains were definitely required on the road. We had a bit of a false start when we found that one of the chains in the rental car was broken. Eventually got up the hill after an extra trip back to Queenstown.

Mixed day - it was snowing on and off all day and visibility ranged from good to nothing. then in the afternoon the cloud came in and they turned on the snow making machines which made conditions tricky. ended up doing just over 5km vertically for the day.
