Orienteering 50:00 [3] 4.5 km (11:07 / km)

Window exercise (set by Bridget) on Brooklands. Awesome day for training - cool and misting rain. (very strange experience for queensland summer!). Feet were pretty chewed up by new shoes, so didn't do second exercise. Stole Mats car to collect controls and nearly ran over a huge red-belly blacksnake.

Orienteering 1:30:00 [2]

running around sandy creek putting out controls for my training exercise. pesky rain has turned an incredibly fast map into a slog through weeds with more cobblers pegs (farmers friends for the southerners) than I though existed in the entire universe.

despite the vegetative hazards the training seemed to go quite well. I had a contour only map, a rock only map, and a contour + rocky areas (marked with grey hatching), and lots of short loops so that everyone could try all of them. weather stayed surprisingly un-hot which helped maintain general enthusiasm for running around in the middle of the day.

Orienteering 20:00 [4] 2.4 km (8:20 / km)

ran one of the short courses with Rachel.

Running 40:00 [3]

muddy plod through the slop that the rain has turned the golf course into. legs felt a bit heavy after last week.
