Running 42:00 [3]

Anzac park run with my new head torch, which isn't really bright enough for trails. Felt surprisingly good running but back has tightened up a bit since.

Orienteering race 52:21 [5] 6.1 km (8:35 / km)

Easter Day 3. nothing left today. struggled from the start. Tash caught me at 1 and we stuffed around together in the creek for the next few, and I just stopped and let her go cos it was just more than I could concentrate with. lost a bit of time stopping to early on the rocky knoll after the creek as well. Lost a heap of time over the run, but had done enough to stay in 3rd.

Orienteering race 1:20:16 [5] 9.5 km (8:27 / km)

Easter Long. Better race than yesterday. Had a massive stack just after the start (wombat hole), but eased into things after that. knew I was struggling on the hills but aimed to keep it all under control. caught Kathryn near 3 and we ran together for most of the rest of it. a couple of little wobbles, and a stupid mistake in the green at 12. hard work and really tired, but good to actually be able to do it.

Orienteering race 40:36 [5] 5.6 km (7:15 / km)

Easter day 1. Ok race - strugged physically, but mostly ok nav. Jo caught me at 6 when I went into some rocks a bit high on the hill. stayed with her for a bit, but she pulled away on the slope at the end. tired.

Event: #NIN3DAYS

Orienteering race 16:40 [5] 3.0 km (5:33 / km)

Easter Sprint. Ok run, but took a while to get the legs going at the start which accounted for most time loss, and got the wrong route choice on 2.

Running 40:00 [3]

Street o score event at st Lucia. Good course, i missed 6 controls but i think i did ok for the distance. Slippery after the rain, and hip a bit sore so took it easy.

Yoga 1:00:00 [2]

Hot yoga.

Orienteering 18:41 [3] 3.0 km (6:14 / km)

Cyclones sprint at WMAC. had a quick run around before the event started.

Running long 1:20:00 [3]

Longish run from Clare's. Bigger group this morning - Rachel, Katelyn, Caroline, Clare, Tamsin and Richie. We spread out a fair bit which made it pretty stop-start. I was feeling pretty flat, so bailed on the extra bit that Rachel did.
Pool was great after - getting out was tough.

Note

massage. back and legs today. back was feeling a bit neglected after the last few weeks of only doing legs and has been complaining.

Running hills (Anzac Park TT) 29:57 [5] 5.2 km (5:46 / km) +150m 5:02 / km

Got a run in before it got dark. Still felt really tired and slow but niggles much better.

Running warm up/down 20:00 [2]

Cycling 20:00 [2]

to and from work, from dropping my car off. not really worth logging - except that I didn't get the stupid pain behind my left knee that has been bugging me cycling for the last month or so. yay!

Running 38:00 [2]

Most pathetic run ever. Trying to do a recovery run without stirring up and niggles. Lots of stops for stretches.

Running warm up/down 1:00:00 [3]

12 PM

Orienteering race 14:16 [5] 2.8 km (5:06 / km)

NOL Sprint deakin uni. fun race with some longer legs. after lots of warnings about not running through gardens there seemed to be a lot of gardens not mapped OOB which was quite confusing. a couple of missed route choices cos of missed gaps in gardens that I didn't trust, and I overshot a building and lost about 30secs. also a confusingly taped crossable wall - not sure why they would want us to not go over it?
5 PM

Orienteering race 15:38 [5] 2.8 km (5:35 / km)

NOL Sprint - Kardinia College. This was the race my body fell apart. Struggled warming up but fortunately the course was technical enough to not be a total running race. then managed to step on a grate and stretch my left ankle that has been a bit shitty for the last few weeks - hurt heaps. kept going but took quite a while to run it out. didn't feel like I made any mistakes, but a few hesitations - but I think it was just one of those areas. fun course.

ankle is swollen now - not heaps, but its pretty hard and yucky.

Running warm up/down 1:00:00 [2]

12 PM

Orienteering race 15:44 [5] 2.8 km (5:37 / km)

NOL sprint - Bundoora. Good run, but just not quick enough. it didn't feel like I made any mistakes, but had a few hesitations and got a bit disoriented with changes of direction. Rachel caught me half way, but the was just making enough wobbles for me to keep up.
5 PM

Orienteering race 14:41 [5] 2.8 km (5:15 / km)

NOL Sprint Melbourne Uni. Faster race than the morning - except my legs were having none if it! one mistake - mis-reading 4. but I think everyone did this, and it actually ended up being one of my best splits.

Running 38:00 [3]

Anzac park plod. Very humid evening. Didn't feel great running and right ankle seems poorly aligned. Hoping for some improvement before the weekend.

Tuesday Mar 8, 2016 #

Running (Street o) 38:12 [3] 6.5 km (5:53 / km)

Street o at indooroopilly. Forgot my torch which made things a bit harder than they needed to be. Then missed a control i shouldn't have. Then over stretched my ankle in a pot hole. Fun otherwise and felt ok running.

Monday Mar 7, 2016 #

Yoga 1:00:00 [2]

Hot yoga.

Sunday Mar 6, 2016 #

Orienteering race 1:15:00 [4] 9.2 km (8:09 / km)

OY at dalmoak. Took a while to convince the legs to run before i started but ended up feeling quite good running in terrain... nice surprise for the first run of the season. Nav was a bit wayward, particularly compass and i lost a fair bit of time relocating on a few controls. Definitely should have taken some safer routes. Got a bit tired towards the end.

Orienteering race 15:24 [4]

Sprint at stanthorpe primary and high school. Legs feeling pretty weird after an aggressive massage this morning so didn't push the running too hard. Also had some issues with line thicknesses on the maps and working out what was crossable. Still fun to run on a new map.
