the rain has stopped (at least for the moment) so I get to ride my bike again - yay!

Running intervals 28:00 [5]

route choice intervals in Anzac park, set by Mat, with Mat and Dan.

Mat had set the intervals so that there were a couple of track options to each one, and that the group splits and races each interval. worked pretty well and the options were pretty close in time. Each interval was about 3 1/2 mins, with 1 min rest between. I found the first one really hard, the next 4 ok, but then died on the hills for the last 3.
Also good to run the tracks in a slightly different order/direction - I realised that there are some tracks I never run on, or wouldn't recognise in the 'wrong' direction.

bikram yoga. this session seemed much harder than friday - really didn't handle the heat well at all, and struggled through.

long run from clare's. ran with clare and katelyn.
pretty tired to start with, and took ages to warm up, but sort of got going eventually.
generally slow pace, with plenty of little pauses for catching up or looking at stuff. found a cool spring that had developed in the middle of the track, near the bottom of bronwyns, which of course meant a nerdy explanation of the groundwater flow involved.

run around the long course at the sprint event. legs not very cooperative in any attempts to run fast.

Yoga 1:30:00 [2]

Bikram yoga class. been ages since I've done any yoga, but it was definitely time to start again. my back has been progressively seizing up and normal stretching really wasn't working. yoga class was good - started off feeling awful, but things improved and I managed to not pass out from the heat. sweated about 10L. will try to get to another class on sunday (after I've re-hydrated).

bush 'sprint' training at banks st reserve, set by wendy. ended up running with/near lance for most of it which helped push me along a bit. bit hard to keep sprint pace in a few areas where the map is so wrong its useless, but I think it was still pretty good training. hopefully I won't be so crap and unfit for too much longer.

long run on mt coottha with the sat morning group. feeling very tired and slow, and got smashed by wendy up the hill. oh well.

sad shuffle around anzac park. was meant to be time trial day, but legs were really sore still from strength session on tuesday and instead of loosening up as I ran everything just got tighter. bailed and plodded home.

Intervals in anzac park. 7*3mins on, 1min recovery, then I ran the last one to the top of the last hill and it was 4.30. didn't go all out to start with after feeling pretty bad running hard on sunday, but got into the session pretty well and felt good running hard (although probably wasn't all that fast).

orienteering intervals with the cyclones. short courses in anzac park. did the first three, but started feeling a bit off, and heart really wasn't liking the hills - I think I should leave the hard running till after I stop taking quite so many antibiotics.
totally pissing rain and all the tracks were flowing with water.

back to work today. didn't really feel up to it, but the prospect of staying home when its forecast to be 36 today was really not appealing. first part of the ride was ok, but struggled by the end. good news is that they've finished the bikeway upgrade so we no longer have to do the 2 bridges detour.

the prospect of going to work today induced a nasty throat infection so I get to spend today at home stewing on the couch in 35C. yuck.

Orienteering 1:00:00 [3]

short course at bunya, set by wendy. first run since before holidays, so expected it to hurt a bit, but turned out not as bad as expected. very hot!
struggled a bit to keep running in the thicker areas and had trouble finding a couple of the tags.

time includes warm up and warm down.
icecreams on the way home were wendy's shout thanks to her miss-placed control.
