Orienteering race 47:00 [3]

SPOOK relays. Ran with Clare Baker on the B course... and was very glad they had forgotten to change us to the A. first course was a 2.1k sprint, which turned out to be a min of 4.6k, and second was a short micro-o course in the park on 1:1000 map. very slow on the first course, but the navigation challenge increased on the second, and my running speed was quite fast enough. 3rd team on the b, and first girls.

Orienteering race 19:36 [5] 2.6 km (7:32 / km)

Sheffield city chase prologue. Slow, but navigated ok, and managed to avoid any really dumb mistakes. Had a few stops to figure out which side of the impassable feature a couple of controls were on. One control was removed from the course due to a land access issue, so splits were removed because of that. result was ok until then, but I'd been quite fast on those legs, so I was a bit further down for the chase.

Orienteering race 24:00 [5] 3.0 km (8:00 / km)

City chase final. first part was pretty crazy, with lots of legs overlapping, and too many people running too close together. quite a few near collisions at the start. caught Jenny and Laura about 2/3 of the way around the course, (about 40secs?) and got a bit ahead, but then stuffed up one control, and took the wrong route choice on the next, and was behind for the last part of the course. no chance in a sprint finish against jenny, and ended up about 1 sec behind, but laura had missed a control, so 4th overall. time is a guess, will find some results and correct it.

Running warm up/down 40:00 [2]

cbf training. busy travelling, and been feeling a bit off the last week or so. probably just lack of sleep, and not so great food while travelling.

Orienteering (night sprint) 20:05 [5]

night sprint training with Linne. cold! and snowing, which looked pretty cool with the headlamp. mostly ok, except for one control where there were heaps of extra controls out and I went to the wrong one... apparently the sign said "wrong one!"... my swedish isn't so good yet!

Orienteering 20:00 [4]

long leg route choice on sprint map, with Seb and Indre.

Running warm up/down 10:00 [2]

Circuit training 30:00 [4]

Linne circuit training after sprint training.

Orienteering (terrain run) 1:38:00 [5] 13.0 km (7:32 / km)

Long terrain run from the Linne clubhouse. cold, dark, fast, but I was pretty motivated not to get dropped. middle third was a bit of a mission - mainly cos I had no idea where we were, and therefore no idea of how far to go. managed to stay with the other girls, and only had one faceplant into a marsh. even did some navigation towards the end. pretty stuffed after.

Cruise into town (Uppsala!) with Indre to meet Inga after work, and back out to Seb and Beths new flat. a little bit cold!

Wednesday Nov 4, 2009 #

Running 45:00 [3]

another run in the forest on ueltiberg, but this time around the bottom of the hill instead of straight up. legs better than yesterday, and the weather much nicer also!

Tuesday Nov 3, 2009 #

Running 30:00 [2]

plod around the lake in the cold/dark/rain. legs felt totally useless... not particularly surprising after sunday!

Running long 1:25:00 [3]

Ran from the hostel in Zurich. headed out into the forest to the south, and ended up climbing all the way up the hill (Uetliberg). Great run, but got a bit steep at times. Saw a few people on the way up, and was a little surprised to see heaps and heaps of people at the top after 50mins climbing. (maybe there was an easier way?!).
fun run down, but died a bit on the last 10mins through the streets, but realised that I hadn't eaten in 9hrs, and my poor body still thought it was midnight.
nice sunny day, and the view was great. still heaps of this forest to explore, so hopefully I'll get time to head out again this week. (and hopefully my legs don't totally fall apart after doing a long steep run.
