Home from work.

Last day of fat arse Feb. decided that my pathetic slowness needed fixing. ended up doing the biggest month training for a couple of years. not sure whether that's good or just a reflection on how crap recent training has been. running is starting to feel ok again at least.

smashfest. good crew tonight - Dan, Mat, Clare, Nick and Brea.
some fence maintenance near the start means an extra 6 fence crossings, but I don't think it cost much time. took a little while to get going but felt heaps better than last week, and heaps better than expected.

6* ~500m (+hill) intervals at anzac park.
had a very hot day of fieldwork in the sun out at Ipswich, so had decided to bail on this session, but got home a bit earlier than expected and ended up heading out to do a little run, which turned into the same session as last week.
times were a bit quicker than last week - just getting used to the loop helps, and I had some people to run with (thanks Brea and Nick). 2.14, 2.16, 2.14, 2.16, 2.18, 2.18.

6x 500m reps around the ring road at Anzac park, starting from the lowest point in the loop (at the lake) around to the top of the hill - probably 20m climb. Wendy had suggested that measured intervals were required for a bit of a reality check regarding actual fitness levels and I agreed.
times - 2.30 (looking for 500m point on gps), 2.11, 2.15, 2.21, 2.16, 2.17.

tagging control sites for the easter prologue. good to get things closer to being finished!
had a couple of issues with the map - one unmarked marsh (covering entire map), but hopefully that will be gone once it stops pissing with rain every day.
and 2 fat red-bellied black snakes.
lots of pretty flowers and tasty blackberries.

cyclones park o at ferny grove primary and high schools. great new maps, and a good course set by Mark. did ok, but I'm sure I took the wrong route choice in on a couple of legs. definitely felt better running this week, without the long run in my legs already, but still way behind Rachel (who kicked everyone's butts).
