Just having so fun keeping my head active in my map reading and trying to develop my skills to a higher level. No specific thought of action today just did what every felt right

Orienteering (Coaching) 1:30:00 [3]

Control placing out and Route choice training. Ran through a whole bunch of different maps with them with a range of difficulty. Was actually great for me checking all the route choices, made me think very carefully about my own methods of finding route choices.

Last Race for the Season until Big 5 in December.

Yet again another great navigational race for me, about 3 controls in i was struggling with my breathing and was just completely frustrated from that point of view. This just meant that my pace was a lot slower but allowed me to plan up to 5-6 controls ahead, which was great.

Only had one control that i made a small (2-3 sec) mistake on (control #3) where i undershot the thicket and went to the one just before it. I think this was mainly because of the 1:5000 scale on a bush map, which was something i haven't worked run on since JWOC in July, but was quick and easy after that to get into the scale of the map.

Really hoping that my health will be back to normal soon so i can get some proper orienteering and training in before Big 5 comes along.
