Orienteering race (Ngodwana Village) 25:56 [3] *** 3.4 km (7:38 / km) +100m 6:39 / km
ahr:196 max:207 spiked:26/26c shoes: Salomon S-LAB Sense Ultra

This race had to be the best race of the whole weekend, and a great way to end off the Urban Season.

Started off really well, the seeded starts really helped with the creating of extra pressure. I went off chasing Alex with the mind set of catching him which resulted in me sitting in 2nd place for the first 6 control of the course.

I never really had any route choice errors besides for a place where the circle covered an opening that would have cut about a minute off my time.

Looking at this event, i was running at the pace that i was running at JWOC last year which is showing a huge improvement in both fitness levels and navigation speed.

Orienteering race (Battery Creek) 1:14:50 [3] **** 7.7 km (9:43 / km) +210m 8:33 / km
ahr:178 max:205 spiked:25/25c shoes: Vj Bold 7

This course was a great course, even with the weather conditions not being the greatest for the run, it was a great run.

Only had a few questionable route choices #1 to #2 probably with getting into the map and took a weird bearing leaving control #2 resulting in me doing a bit of a longer route. The other was #7 where i decided to take to road route that was faster in some way bu had more climb in the route compared to the straight route through the forest. Just after one of my best route choice to #22 i made a really stupid route choice to #23 by cutting down the valley and running up the other side, which was a lot of extra climb compared to that of running round on the road.

All in all it was a great run with minimal mistakes and some really good route choices

Was a good course just didnt enjoy the major climb in the middle and at the end.
Only made on major mistake but was able to correct myself quite easily.

Orienteering race (Kaapsehoop Rockery Night) 23:31 [3] ** 2.4 km (9:48 / km) +55m 8:47 / km
ahr:183 max:209 spiked:15/15c shoes: Salomon S-LAB Speedcross

Really Awesome event, doing a night O in the Rockery.
Didn't push myself extremely hard in this event, due to the main focus races being Saturday - Monday.

Had really great fun, accuracy was spot on. Tried to do a more technical route choice to my original more simple route choice.

Was good to focus on just the map for once, instead of relaying on your surrounds, believe it shows some good technical work and instinct work as well.
