Orienteering 24:19 [3]

NSW Sprint Champs @ Sugar Rush (Pyrmont)
Absolutely fantastic area and course (although a bit too long - whatever happened to 12-15min winning times?!) just a super fun area for orienteering. Sore/body tired from yesterday and just not really on the ball today.Sluggish from the start with reading the map and didn't really improve, no good flow through the course, always reacting instead of reading ahead. Missed the optimum route choices a lot of the time but had a great time trying to work it out on the go! Found the map hard to read some of the time - perhaps should get eyes tested! Off the pace of the others (and miles behind Rachel!) today but pipped Brio by 2 sec, sorry!!

Great weekend of quality sprint races - huge thanks to big foot and garingal. Loved it!

Orienteering 16:09 [3]

Big Foot sprints @ Sydney Uni

Really fun area. Had a pretty good run, trying to get a bit of flow back (feel like I was very stop-starty at the Aus Champs) but still had to jog and stop to keep up with reading the map. Fun course! Ended up in a good possie around the girls - but a couple of mins back from super speedsters Rachel and Barbara

Orienteering 16:00 [3]

Final - chasing start

Grant injured so I got to go in the chasing start. Had Mace and Tracy ahead and Paula 1 sec behind! This was so much fun, haven't raced in a pack for ages. By number 6 (of about 20 controls) we were more or less together and there was a fair bit of to-ing and fro-ing over the rest of the course but Mace reigned supreme in the end. I was happy to slot in behind her with P and T a few secs back. Absolutely had to bust a gut to keep up - definitely ran harder than I would have alone. Really fun to run with a bit of pressure - got a bit of a taste of competition but enough to train really, really hard? Hmmmm, not sure.

The ANU/Lake BG loop I used to run every week with cathy and zaf (in the pram). Wore my new kinvara 3s, very comfy. Right foot and leg still no good. Left one is great!

A Dickson wetlands loop in my new Sketcher GoRuns. They are very light - so maybe better for intervals and races rather than normal runs? They felt a bit weird but ok. A bit sore under my big toe/bunion on my right foot. Hope that's just the new shoes and not a new problem!
Took aaages (~4mins) to get satellites so I added the extra in
