CUOC training at Homerton.
Hanging + Two short courses. Generally pretty easy, 1 mistake where I thought I was at 9 not 8 and went round the wrong building. Knee twisting a bit through the rougher grass, but keeping the distance low so it should be fine.

Oakington and Cottenham. Windy on the way back but decent cycle path so not too bad as a route.

Monday mornings are back!! Decent session, knee feeling very stiff on lunges but otherwise good.

WAOC event at High Ash.
Blue- pretty decent navigation wise, one bad route choice where I got stuck in some waist high bracken. Could feel the knee but actually still okay at the end.

Control collecting. Generally good except one control where I got the wrong ride, fortunately not on the actual course. Probably a bit too much distance for the knee, stiffened up afterwards.

CuTric endurance session.
200m, 100m and a few 50m reps. Felt good when at the front of the lane, really able to push the pace. Probably not leaving big enough gaps between us because there was definitely a drafting effect.

Note

Saw the physio today, apparently it’s just tightness in the back of the knee and hamstring causing knee pain, so lots of stretching and rolling should ease it off a bit and then it’s just a case of building running volume back up slowly.

Generally felt like I picked decent routes, one mistake where I went in the wrong alleyway because I’d miscounted on the map. Could feel my knee by the end but not too bad.

Along the busway to Longstanton, across to Bar Hill and back through Madingley. Super windy on the way out so quite slow.

Haslingfield, over chapel hill to Barrington and back over, then across to Kingston and back via Comberton. Such a nice route, really enjoyed it.

Out via Barton road to Caldecote and back in along Madingley Road. Legs felt tired pretty quickly but kept the pace reasonable, nice to get out for a decent ride. Need to find some longer routes though.

Okay for 2km, starting to hurt by 4km, stuff by the end. Looks like it might take a while. Hopefully will get a physio slot for next week, annoyingly am busy this week.

Couldn’t feel the knee walking around so ran about 300m round a micro sprint course at training, could feel it again. A few more days off running.

Kentmere Horseshoe with Mum, Dad and John
So much fun, not going super fast but nice views through the occasional gaps in the clouds. Right knee started twinging about 10km in and gradually got worse towards the end, particularly on uphill and downhill sections, so a few days off running coming up.

Felt decent, very windy on the way out up the cricket pitch though so times a bit inconsistent. Probably could have pushed a bit more on the longer ones, but felt like a decent effort level.

Granchester via Rugby fields and back through the meadows. Felt exhausted all day but then inexplicably felt good running this. Motivation for core was low though so will do it on Wednesday instead.
