3 peaks walk.
26 miles, 1414m climb, 28 degrees. Walking pretty slow because Alice was struggling in the heat, so not really getting tired, but a still long hot day to be on my feet.

Been feeling a bit lightheaded all day so wasn’t expecting this to be amazing, fairly easy round the trumpington granchester loop. Stomach not feeling great either, think I probably haven’t been eating enough proper food over the last couple of days but now May week is over I can get back to a decent routine.

Sprintervals at North Cambridge with Fiona, Aidan, James and Paul.
3x1.4km loops @ 4:40 pace
Really enjoyed this, good to actually push the pace in orienteering and made mistakes on all the reps. Running reasonable well, not very agile round the corners though.

Quick circuit when I got home, trying to keep this up now organised sessions have finished.

Around Nacka, really nice course, navigation was pretty poor for the first half an hour, then got into the map and was so much better. Legs feeling tired though, running before breakfast was not ideal but the guys were all still asleep.

Feeling good on the first two reps, then legs really tired on the third rep so slowed down a bit, probably should have pushed harder as felt alright at the end.

Through the allotments to Trumpington and back via Granchester, legs a weird mixture between tired and bouncy, haven’t run in the morning for a while so stomach was a bit weird. Nice to be done with exams though, had a massive smile the whole way.

CUOC training at St John’s Playing Fields
A pretty easy area but reasonable compass practice, taking too long over bearings really though, should have been doing rough compass but on a map with no features it seemed a bit risky

Out to Longstanton along the busway, then road back was closed so ended up doing a bit extra, with a slight MTB shortcut to get back to the busway, then through Girton on the way back

CUHH Long run with Rebecca, Maybritt and Mesi.
Maybritt and Mesi ran with us to Bait’s Bite and then Rebecca and I went on to Waterbeach and back along the towpath. Feeling really good for the first 16km, then got a stitch and struggled a bit for the rest of the way, actually pace didn’t drop too much though.

Fairly easy session but felt harder than it should have done, probably due to lack of actual circuits recently.

Started way too fast with an 83s (!) 400m on the first lap of the 800, then died a bit on the second 600m rep, but reasonably happy with the times given exams this week. Think the fitness is getting there, just need to keep building and get to some races at some point.
