ORIENTEERING ◪ race (Sth German Track) 59:51 [5] 11.9 km (5:02 / km)

Garmin 12.7 Started 2 mins behind Bruce and 2 in front of Leon. Went out hard as I wanted to get a gap on Leon, who can be quick if he gets it together, consequently saw Bruce at 5, was so shocked that I thought I had done something wrong, settled down quick enough and tried to run him down on the way to 6, he saw me here and quickened the pace, and I couldn't close the gap as he ran away from me up to 8.

Got Toph before 11, and Dave at 13 and thought I had them under control at 15, but a slight error at 16 and they were back, and it was to close to home to do anything, as Toph gave it another go and set the pace to the finish.

Should have stuck to Bruce, not that I could have, as he went on to win, 2nd for me today was a very good result. Will have to wait for the splits to see if I lost the race at 16

Bendigo event, started 10 mins behind James and caught up to him at 7, sat back and watched him do the next leg, we went slightly different ways, he had me by 30 secs at the end of this leg. Then I started to wind him in until I got pass on the way to the last, he tried to come back, but I made myself very hard to pass, so he stayed behind. Ran the last 1.5 k in 6.10

Got back from Melbourne to late to run in the light, so ran into town, Carpenter, Mitchell, Pall Mall, Williamson, Somerville to OTH pub and home along SG Rd.

Kept 4.30k pace going for the 1st 30 mins, then dropped the pace back a tad

Ran to the track, did a couple of laps of the 750 m circuit, then some 600s, was going to do 4, but I felt good so did 1 more. Ran another lap of 750 before I ran home.

Nearly didn't go as I was procrastinating to much, finally got away at 5.30, up the ridge to DH, then back to the Golf Course, then through Solamon Gully and around the GC and home
