ORIENTEERING ◪ 38:25 [5]
shoes: INOV-8 Talon 212 #1

Bendigo Club event @ Sedgwick.

Had a late start, and I knew Dave had gone right, and Bruce left, so I decided to give straight a go. Dave was fastest, then Bruce 7 secs later, and I another 7 secs as well. Not bad on a 2k leg.

You can view it all on Route Gadget Good tight race right to the end.

I was surprised that my Achilles held up, which was very good. Went home and put more ice on it, just in case

Managed to fit this in before it started to rain.

Up through Diamond Hill and Kangaroo Gully to the water channel, then instead of coming back directly along Hunts Gap, extended the ride to go via Harpers and Rooney, before getting back to HG, then home via Kangaroo and Spring Gully.

MTB 1:35:00 [3] 34.6 km (2:45 / km)

Time to do something longer, Echidna Trail.

Up DH and onto Trail, followed it to KF Rail Station, then followed the train line to Big Hill, crossed the Highway to get into No 7 Res Park, then across Crusoe Res wall to Carcoola Dve, over to Break a Day, through to Rocky Rises Rd, Wicks Rd and onto Empire Rd (not its right name)

Tried to find Derwent Gully Rd short cut through to Albert St, but missed it, and as I was going to call it quits once I got to Devonshire Reef, I headed for home.

Next time I will do the whole loop, as I know all the tracks that need to be taken. Very nice day to be out

MTB 1:00:00 [3]
shoes: INOV-8 Talon 212 #1

First time that I've been able to put any real weight onto my leg, has been so hard walking these last 3 days.

Put out SI controls for a school session, then bought them back in. Things are on the improve

RUN race 50:24 [4] 12.0 km (4:12 / km)
shoes: INOV-8 Talon 212 #1

12 k at Bundoora

Shouldn't have done it, my Achilles was not up to it, and I suffered. Didn't even make the Bendigo team (1st 6) so another reason not to have done it. To sore after to even contemplate a warm down.

Liam Adams won, but was disqualified as he didn't wear his timing chip, I suppose that is like not taking your SI stick

RUN 20:00 [3] 4.0 km (5:00 / km)
shoes: Pegasus 27

Late meander around the Golf course, to check to see if I'm up for it tomorrow. 12k CC in Melbourne, they are trying to draft me into the team, must be desperate (-:

Achilles was surprisingly good, knee, not so good, but slowly getting better, fingers crossed

ORIENTEERING ◪ 40:00 [2]
shoes: INOV-8 Talon 212 #1

This time we are at Chewton Diggings, I put the controls out, got a number of PPL to help to bring them in
1 PM

RUN race 30:00 [4] 8.5 km (3:32 / km)
shoes: Lunar Racer

The squad went and did the Bendigo event @ Sedgwick, I excused myself and ran the Coliban Relays, luckily for me, my leg started at Sedgwick.

Very ordinary day, and as I didn't know what condition I would be in, I got myself put in one of our Div 7 teams. Started slow - that is slower than usual - then seemed to finish it of OK, but that may have been the slippery road in the last K, so many runners were slowing down.

RUN race 2:25:00 [4] 31.0 km (4:41 / km)
shoes: Lunar Racer

Gold Coast Marathon, started out back a bit in the field - so many PPL try to get up the front - Got going alright, caught sight of Victor, then finally caught up with him at 3k, realised we were running in the 3 hr group, there wasn't much room, so moved out the front for some free running.

Something felt 'not right' behind the left knee, so indicated to Victor to do his own thing, so he moved away. 20.51 for 1st 5k, so going well. Really wanted to get to the turn around, so kept it going. 20.47, then 20.46 for the next two 5k splits, then the turn to go home.

Things were getting tough, so decided to get to half way (88.49), then did another k before I had to walk. It was going to take a long time to walk 9k, so after walking for 1k, ran for a bit, and walked, and ran, finally got back to the start line.

Might do Melbourne, have to see what goes on in the next few months
