ORIENTEERING ◪ race 41:09 [5] *** 7.23 km (5:41 / km) +250m 4:51 / km
shoes: Silva O shoes

Day 3, no duties today, so got to race. Started 1 min behind Ev, saw him going to 2, got up to him at 4, then I lost time on 5, then he caught me up later on. Was fun to race again, Max caught me at the end, but managed to drop him on the way to the last

Sunday Dec 28, 2008 #

ahr:115 max:168 shoes: Silva O shoes

Been setting up all day, so once I got started, went to hard (1st k in 4.20) then had to slow it down once I hit the hill, then I lost interest, so called it a day. Walked home

NOTE Don't try to race in a event you are organising

Wednesday Dec 24, 2008 #

MTB 30:00 [3] 9.0 km (3:20 / km)

Over pass the Aths track then OTH and home down the walking track and SG creek, most enjoyable

One of the problems with living where I do in SG is that I have DH on my doorstep. One then seems to forget where else there is to train, and OTH use to be that for many years before I shifted here. Will have to go back to OTH more often

Sunday Dec 21, 2008 #

RUN long (Mt Herbert Classic) 1:59:35 [3] 21.4 km (5:35 / km) +475m 5:02 / km
shoes: Nike Zoom

Good group, had Charles, Johnny, Victor and Meredith go all the way, Paul and Ben went as far as the Res, 60:01 up, 59:34 down. From the pony club, through Kangaroo Gully to Sandhurst Res fence, then up the Nth gully, then the Nth Face, home much the same way with little diversion to go over different ground than the way up.

Mt Herbert is 240 m higher than the start, but we had to do 475 m climb to get there

MTB 7:00 [3] 2.4 km (2:55 / km)
shoes: Nike Bike shoes #1

Easy ride over to Georgina Dve and back. Picked up the maps for Day 2 of the 5-Days, printed on waterproof paper, they look good

Had to print 300 maps, so bought 3 boxes of 100 sheets of WP paper, but was short changed by 6, so 2% of paper is missing!! Had to print some of the Novice maps on 100 GSM

Saturday Dec 20, 2008 #

RUN warm up/down 20:00 [3] 4.0 km (5:00 / km)
shoes: Nike Zoom

Up the Creek and around the oval, then back to the track

Friday Dec 19, 2008 #

Note

RUN race 4:53 [5] 1.5 km (3:15 / km)
shoes: Nike track spikes

4 by 1500 relay champs. This rotation policy that we have doesn't work, ever since I was put out of the team a few weeks ago, I haven't got back in, and I missed out again tonight.

Ran with Keely and Richard in a unofficial team. Was a good race with Bryan on 1st, 4.24, then Luke 4.48, then Me 4.53 and Richard 4.17. I ran 3rd leg and changed side by side with the official Vet team, but couldn't hold the Cowell, and lost a few second. Still a better time than Saturday. Johnny ran very well for a 4.37

RUN warm up/down 6:00 [3] 1.2 km (5:00 / km)
shoes: Nike Zoom

Along the creek to SG oval and back, nice to see water running in it

RUN race 4:59 [5] 1.5 km (3:19 / km)
shoes: Nike track spikes

Not a bad start, and thought about taking Johnny out, but didn't, and should have. Ended up 1 sec behind

RUN warm up/down 16:30 [3] 3.2 km (5:09 / km)
shoes: Nike Zoom

This time down the creek, and back

(Interesting how the time and distance is the same as the warm up)

ROAD BIKE 1:08:30 [3] 32.13 km (2:08 / km)
shoes: Nike Bike shoes #1

Dave was in Bendigo with his bike, and even though the weather wasn't conducive to riding, if we didn't go, we wouldn't go

Juvenile, I lost count of how many times we took turns dropping out the back, it was that type of ride, Dave made up for it on the last hill at the back of Spring Gully school

Thursday Dec 11, 2008 #

RUN intervals 40:00 intensity: (20:05 @1) + (5:04 @3) + (14:51 @5) 7.3 km (5:29 / km)

Wednesday Dec 10, 2008 #

Thought about the GooseNeck again, but chickened out and did the Juvenile, started up Burns St, then DH Rd, KG Rd, and around the Juv, home over OTH saddle. Only just managed to crack 2 mins k's

Monday Dec 8, 2008 #

Rode over to Peter Creely's as his email was bouncing messages back to me, then into town to the photocopy shop, and home

MTB 27:50 [3] 10.0 km (2:47 / km)

Standard ride, up to DH, then SG oval, and home.

We have got a new bridge crossing on the creek, at the end of the soccer fields, it wasn't long ago (well a few years), that there was no track there at all, oh well, these changing times

shoes: Nike Zoom

2 laps of outer track, pry to race

RUN race ((Steeple)) 7:35 [5] 2.0 km (3:48 / km)

Steeple at the track over the proper height, felt good, even if the time could be a bit better

RUN warm up/down 5:00 [3] 0.9 km (5:33 / km)
shoes: Nike Zoom

Another 2 laps of the outer track

Friday Dec 5, 2008 #

ORIENTEERING ◪ race (3 hr twilight) 48:00 intensity: (15:30 @2) + (16:00 @3) + (16:30 @5) 7.5 km (6:24 / km)
shoes: Teva #2

Started of with Big Ev and Keely, nearly threw up on the way to the 1st, so seriously considered why I was out here, then missed the control, the boys had waited for me, so got going again. 3.5k in 16.30 got us to the 4th control, were I decided it was best for me to call it a night. Easy run/walk back to the assembly area, and then ate soggy warm chips for the next 3 hrs.

Wednesday Dec 3, 2008 #

ROAD BIKE 1:10:00 [3] 32.7 km (2:08 / km)

Had thought about doing the goose neck, but cut it short through Story's Rd, then through to the McIvor Hwy, dropped into Kenny Res to confirm the last control sites for the weekend Schools race, and home
